Any new updates regarding the USB device storage issue after the last update? Ive installed the hot fixes…still not recognizing USB Drive as device storage. I unplugged my shield and started using a firestick until hopefully gets resolved

I didn’t do the update but had a weird thing happened yesterday. I turned on my shield and all the side loaded apps were gone and we’re on my USB . I looked everywhere for them nothing. Tried rebooting even hard reboot and nothing. I unplugged the power left it off for 10 minutes or so and then plugged in and they were all back . I don’t understand why but glad I don’t have to start all over
Wow that sound exactly like what happened to me…mine just didnt come back.
I did do the update, and have since unplugged , rebooted …etc and still doesnt recognize the USB…Im trying not to do reset, but may have to.
Could be worth a try since its been unplugged for a few days now
I would try and plug it back in since it’s been off and see don’t have anything to loose good luck let me know how you make out

I have a question about the Nvidia shield also. But I don’t know how or where to open a new topic. I did it once or twice but I don’t recall how. When I turn of my tv at night, it also turns off my shield like it is supposed to. But during the night, the shield comes back on. No picture, just the green light. I turn it off again with the tv remote. I didn’t have this issue before the update, now I can’t get the settings right. I don’t understand what to do.
How did you make out did you get your apps back? Curious to see how you make out let us know

I did not…it was still the same when I plugged it back in, so I ended up doing a factory reset…so starting over 
Well at least it started back up starting over is better than having it turned into a brick. Starting over can be a good thing if you have the time get rid of old and in with the new.

Having the same problem but I wake up to screen saver running. Since updating it doesn’t seem to be the same box. Never know which apps are going to work. Wondering if resetting will help.
I didn’t even do the update and lately it’s been doing weird things never know what is going to happen next. I have gotten the am7 and the ut8 in case I need to abandon my shield which is my main box but I will be ready for anything once I get them both setup. Something to think about
