Howdy Troypoint Community. Happy Post Canada Day and Pre-Fourth of July to all.
Quick question to the group…anybody else having issues with the Google Live TV component of the NVIDIA Shield TV? Access to mine comes and goes. Sometimes it shows up at the top and other times it disappears and doesn’t show up again for weeks sometimes. Not sure what the issue is. I know that my device is always kept up to date.
Not the end all / be all, just curious if I am the only one experiencing it and if so, what may be the cause of it behaving like this.
I never use it as I have an IPTV service but I just checked and it’s there for me. But I can’t honestly say if it works or doesn’t work. It is showing 132 Channels in 23 categories.
Hey Explorer. Thanks for that. I never thought of that. I wonder if it shows up only when I forget to turn of my VPN which I usually use through a US Server, but if I happen to turn it off, that it doesn’t show up when I am connected regularly to my CAN IP…
Have to test that theory. You may have something there. Cheers mate.
Right now I have my VPN in Toronto, Canada, the Google Live TV is gone last night. I had it in New York. It was there. It’s weird. They block Free Live TV from us Canadians.
Oh hey @Explorer I didn’t think of that. I’m on a NY server as well. I’ll switch to Montreal or Van and then look. No difference. Van Montreal or NY I still got the same stuff. Hey @Timelord1791 I’ll keep a watch for a few days. Maybe just server maintenance or adding channels. With Google it could be anything.
Good day Miki, hope you’re doing well.Leave it in Canada for the rest of the day. It will disappear and stop working. When I turned on my shield this morning, it was gone. But it doesn’t really bother me because I never use it.
I’m on Van right now. Watching Wimbledon. I’ll leave it here and check throughout the day. Oh and good morning @Explorer. I am well thank you. Although I’m sick of the . I hope you and yours are well too.
Doing good here thank you very much. Yes, we’re getting a lot of rain very high temperatures. It’s going to be 31 Celsius, but with the humidity they’re like 41c.
@Explorer You are absolutely correct my friend. I just checked and when on a Can server the Google live is indeed gonzoed, no more, kaput, adios, ciao baby.
It is terrible how the Canadian government makes Sure. We get nothing for free, especially TV. I have an outdoor antenna. I can pull in around eighty channels That I barely use because of iptv. But they all come from the US because I’m so close to Detroit. Thank you for checking that out Miki and letting me know.
Any time @Explorer . I was curious as well. So learned something new from you today. Always cool when that happens. Be well my friend. By the way, it’s still gone even after I switched back to the NY server. So now I’m going to restart and see if it comes back. Brb. Oddly enough live still did not come back after I shut down all background apps and cleared the cache.
Oh BTW I forgot to ask if you do the close background apps using the dbl click home button method then clear the cache in device preferences/storage?
That’s what I like about Troy point. It’s always a learning experience and I like learning new things. It will take a while to return I guess Google has to see where you’re Ip is before they release live TV. Yes, there’s times I go into device preferences, storage and clear cache data. Then I do it the old school way under apps and just go through them all and clear the cache. And Force stop.
Have you tried the double click home button to bring up your background running apps to close them? I forget who showed me that one. I deleted the background apps and process list tool after learning that one.
And just like that…The Canadian TP Patrons @Miki & @Explorer have solved another great Google mystery. Thanks folks…makes sense now. Cheers to you both.
i live in chateauguay quebec and found that using an vpn and downloag pluto app, plex and tubi fixed the problem for me also keep pluto upto date us pluto much better than canada version.
