Nvidia Shield Tube Connection Issue?

Hi everyone!

I use Shield tubes on both of my TVs. Suddenly neither one will sty connected to my network. It connects, then immediately disconnects on both. I’ve rebooted. unplugged, reset. The rest of my network is working fine.

Anybody else having Nvidia issues?

very strange, did you swap the hdmi cable to check?

No but I changed the ethernet cord that connects the modem to the router and that worked. I became suspicious of that when I plugged in a Firestick and it wouldn’t connect either. Thanks so much for replying!

Well I thought that was it. One shield connected for a few minutes then disconnected again. I’m stumped because all my other devices are connecting just fine.

Please forgive me, if this subject is elsewhere, i’ve tried the Nvidia Thread there’s nothing in there with the problem I have.

So here goes, i’ve been running the Shield via wifi it’s been ok, but I thought today i’d check out the ethernet, I have 500mb connection when I connected the cable it keeps falling out it doesn’t click into place.

But for testing purposes I held it in place while I did a speed test I got a 512mb without vpn reading [brilliant eh]???

But as I say there’s a problem with the connector on the device, it’s broke or damaged and won’t hold the connector, does anybody know of a way to keep it in place, cos obviously with them speeds i’d rather use the ethernet option

Are you positive it’s the port and not the connector on the cable? If cable is good, and mind you this is something “I” would try, but with a razor knife(new blade of course) try and split/flatten the small end of a wooden toothpick and Gently ease that in after cable is in, see if that mite snug it up….

Again, my try at it, you can try or not, either way Good Luck….

Thanks for the reply.

Yes! I have tried numerous cables cat6, and yes! it’s definitely the shield thats the problem.

I’m off to try your method :upside_down_face:

Can’t get the toothpick method to work yet :face_with_peeking_eye:

Just to add what the problem is, on the shield the connector is missing or broke so the cable cannot click into place.

OK got the toothpick trick to work, connector is in now quite firmly.
