Has anyone experienced a reboot problem with Nvidia Shield Pro? Acts like a power failure even though everything else on the circuit stays on. Tried power recycle. Mfg suggests factory reset, which I hesitate to do as in general it causes more trouble than good.
What’s your storage space look like? Is your memory full?
12G total. Have not found where it tells me usage. In the middle of factory reset.
Yes! On one of my Nvidia’s I was experiencing some issues and decided to reboot. I noticed in doing so, it took more time than usual. I thought it was due to the issue I was experiencing. I will do a reboot right now and check.
My main Nvidia seemed to take just a bit longer to go through the rebooting process than my other Nvidia. Although, that could be due to the number of apps I have installed on my main device vs my other less used device.
Edit: A pop-up message appeared about the Monitor Dot needing an update and to make sure I was connected to the internet. I checked in setting and saw nothing where I could update and backed out of the app, and everything seemed to work. Although, yesterday when I experience d some weird issues on my Nvidia I ran the Virus Total, and it showed 1 detection out of 75. Don’t know if the Monitor Dot is the culprit or not, but will be monitoring the Monitor Dot and if necessary, will uninstall it.
I just ran 3 different virus scans on my Nvidia and all 3 detected some sort of virus on the Monitor Dot app. In all fairness though, a detection of a virus showed for Plex Media )1) and Wolf Launcher (1).
Btw, up until I had the issue with my device. The Monitor Dot app never showed any viruses before. So, is something up with the dot’s latest update?
My symptom was while watching a video, it would appear to power off and restart.
If that’s the square one, mine also detected something…on both Defsquid & VirusTotal…I never use it anyway so I also deleted it…I use the other 2.
Yep, it’s the square one.
That virus warning was a false positive.
The new Monitor Dot vesion 1.229 fixes the virus issue.
I have version 1,227 but when I opened the appand it states “checking for update” it does not update. Should I uninstall and reinstall?
Update: I decided to go to the TP-Toolbox and installed an update from there and am now on v.1.229. It seems your built-in updater does not function within the app on v. 1.227
Alls good…
When I release a new version that only contains a few slight changes, I don’t trigger the “An Update Is Available” feature because if I did, it would be constantly triggering this for every user, every day expecially because the app is currently in the beta phase and I was releasing a new version every day or so - so it could be too annoying to users if I triggered the new version alert for each one of those slight updates.
Now that the beta phase is closing down, when I release a new version, it will contain significant changes and will trigger the “A New Version Is Available” feature.
I hope this makes sense.
