Nvidia shield pro/Kodi xenon build not loading movies

About 2 weeks ago my Nvidia shield pro started randomly turning itself and my TV off and back on. Just randomly in the middle of watching my iptv and now as 2 days ago when I choose a movie on kodi it will say loading at the bottom of screen but will never load. I tried leaving it loading overnight and nothing, I uninstalled the build and it hasn’t helped. Can someone PLEASE HELP ME? I am using the diggz xenon build

Hi @Jmblackstock3
Now, not entirely sure about this, but it sounds like some of the APK’s that make up the Diggz build may not be completely optimized yet for Kodi 19.3.
Might be less frustrating to uninstall the build and then reinstall Kodi along with 1or 2 add-ons, such as The Crew, Venom or Seren.

Do as @Sbrowne126 suggested. Using addons instead of builds

But your box turning on and off could be a hardware issue.

It’s the powering on and off?

Make sure all connections are secured in properly and not lose or chewed.

Make sure the plug that it’s going into isn’t lose. Check all PowerBar or any source of power it’s connected to has a tight fit.

Hi fellows sorry it took me a bit I got busy but I tried the advice Uninstalled kodi and reinstalled it with just the addon and it still doing the same thing actually I have 3 different kodi builds installed and there all 3 doing the same thing. Kodi will load just fine and allow me to pick any addon and surf through and find a movie but when I choose a movie to play it will say loading and that’s it, you can leave it running all night and it will still say loading in the morning doesn’t matter what build or which addon you try to use. I really don’t want to go through all the trouble but do you think I should wipe my shield pro clean and start all over again?

Hi @Jmblackstock3
So that I completely understand you correctly, you have 3 build installed at the same time, and no matter which one, the program you choose won’t load? You have 3 Kodi build installed onto Kodi onto your Nvida Shield?
Do I understand you correctly?

Actually what I have is kodi 18.9 installed with the Xanax build, then I have kodi 19.1 installed with the xenon build and then I have 19.3 with just the crew and seren add-ons and they are all doing the same thing they just won’t load any movie that I pick

Hi @Jmblackstock3
Yeah, so might want to pick one and uninstall the other 2, and see if that doesn’t help with your issue. The Nvida Shield has a bit of power, but even that device won’t be able to hold all of that in memory and run efficiently without problems.
Try that and see if it helps.
Just curious, why 3 at the save time?

No reason other than I just like both the Xanax build and the xenon each had certain features that I like and have been using both for two years now as well as iptv smarters and tivimate and quite a few other apps and never had any issues. So you think it’s just too much and I should get rid of a few

@Jmblackstock3
Yeah, probably so. Kodi, in and of itself is a very large file, now add each of your Kodi builds, each also equally very large files, and then add each of your add-ons you installed, and you can begin to see that it starts to add up in terms of the amount of processing power it will take just to keep all that running smoothly. Like I said, the Nvida Shield has quite a bit of processing power, but not enough to do all of that for the experience you are looking for.

Hi @Jmblackstock3
So did a little more searching, the Xanax build has run into quite a few issues as of late, and has become unstable. So if that is one you are using more than the others, could explain some of your issues.

The turning on and off on it’s it own could be a bad sign of malfunction.

In your first post of the topic.

What I would try is removing all of kodi on your nivida.

Reset the device and install 19.3 with the crew see what happens. Just focus on that device first.

Just went through and Uninstalled a few apps and I’m watching a movie now though it’s a little slower than normal but I’m going to go back through and cull a few more hopefully that will speed things up a little more but it’s weird cuz it’s been running gr8 for at least a year like that and only gave problems starring 2 days ago but THANKS SO MUCH for your help. Bye the way are you familiar with the buzztv xrs 4900 and if so what’s your thoughts on it ? Is it a good system? Would like to hear some feedback if you have any

Review
Troypoint does a great review on it.

I personally haven’t used it. For non andriod tv boxes for iptv boxes this is top of the line.

Nividia shield pro being top tier andriod tv.

Hope to see your issues are resolved report back on your findings.

It’s me again margret. So I thought I had fixed the issue but to no such luck I finally did a hard reset this morning and now my problem seems to be only with kodi everything else is working gr8 so i reinstalled kodi with only the crew add-on. So I open the add-on choose movie’s then choose a category say trending or in theaters that is when the problem starts it will say loading but it NEVER loads doesn’t matter what add-on I try it just never loads. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!

Hi @Jmblackstock3
So, just so I understand, your Nvida Shield is working properly, but it’s the add-ons that are not?

Yes everything things working as should but just won’t load when I choose a category

@Jmblackstock3
Ok, so I went into The Crew and first clicked on In Theatre, clicked on a movie link and had lots of links pulled.
Next went to Trending, same thing.
What I did notice that recently released movies, that are only in theatres, do not play, which makes sense. But for the others, I had no problem finding links and playing.

Yea idk see when I choose trending or any other category it tries to load but never will. I wonder if I Uninstall kodi 19.3 and try it with 19.1 maybe 18.9

Hi @Jmblackstock3
So uninstall Kodi then do either:
Troypoint Rapid App Installer then click on Kodi 19.3 and download the click install
OR
Open Downloader app and in the URL box type in Troypoint.com/kodistable
Once Kodi is installed, then follow the tutorial that Troy posted to install The Crew accurately and completely. Any sort of misspelling or omission will result in the add-on not loading and functioning properly.
Come back here and let us know if we can help or any further questions.

I did use the rapid app installer and also followed Troy’s instructions on installing the crew to the letter. I always use Troypoint when available there always my first choice. It’s really got me stumped
