Nvidia shield gets stuck in reboot

My shield sometimes gets stuck in reboot mode lately. Every once and a while when I reboot my shield for what ever reason it gets stuck in reboot I have tried the usual things like unplugging and so on with no joy. Sometimes if I can get a app to start it stops it and everything is ok till the next time I reboot. Any suggestions or comments appreciated.:v::sunglasses:

I haven’t experience it being “stuck”, but on occassion mine boots to a black screen and then I hit the home button and it “wakes” up, and displays the home screen.

to be honest booting to android logo or repeating is never a good thing but it could be harmless. Have you unplugged the shield? …physically pull the power connection on the shield. Let it set and cool 15 minutes and re-try everything.

Yes I have done all the things like unplugging and still keeps rebooting

How long has it been since you cracked it open and cleaned out the dust? Just guessing here.

How long has it been since you last reset the box? I know people dont like to hear that but often its just a good idea to keep things in top form. Generally I reset my boxes around 2 or 3 times a year just for the fun  of it. :joy:

It’s been a while just haven’t had time or not feeling up to it. I guess that’s my last resort :sob:

I just got an HDMI coupler and I’m going to experiment with my 4K Max attached to my TV via a 6’ HDMI 2.1 cable using a smays powered hub and ethernet instead of WiFi. Can ya tell I’m bored? But ya I need a backup option as well.

A factory reset would be a good idea. Best to do it in FASTBOOT mode so you don’t need to fight the bootloop to access the OS android settings

If you have a Pro, you’ll need a controller or USB key board connected to the shield before entering fastboot to factory reset.

Faulty HDMI cables can cause bootloop issues. Try swapping out a cable and retest before doing a reset.

Actually at the end of this month beginning of December I will be finally finished with the repairs after the hurricane Ian and getting all new carpet so everything needs to be dismantled for the installers so my whole system needs to come apart so I will do it on the reinstalling of everything. Just need to get to then. And yes I had the same thoughts last night of getting the ugoos out of retirement and giving it a tune up thanks for all the suggestions as always :+1: . I have all new cables and everything else. Finally finished only took a year and still have to get my landscaping done yet but house is done hallelujah and so made it through this hurricane season ok. But still love Florida miss the woods a bit. Thanks everyone for your support you are all the best.:v::sunglasses:
