Nvidia Shield 2017 4K issue

You know my old shield 2017 when I’m in Netflix it’s don’t stream in 4K it’s says 1080p/codec HDR 10… what you think it would be …my pro streams 4K fine so I don’t think it’s a Netflix problem

My 2017 doesn’t stream also in ultra HD on Amazon Prime Video

Any feed back would be greatly appreciated

PS I haven’t upgraded the software on both of my devices but my pro is fine for streaming 4K on Netflix and Ultra on prime video.

It could be a few different things…

In many cases, it’s a HDCP issue. Netflix 4K requires that your hdmi is connected to a HDCP 2.2 compliant port on your TV. Some 4K tvs only have selected hdmi ports that are 2.2 compliant.

Try a different cable - like the one that your Pro model is using. Test on the same hdmi port.

Make sure the resolution on your shield is set properly, 4k60hz or similar.

Update software.

yeah my Mecool went on the dumps, so I hooked up my Shield 2017 to replace it in my bedroom and still my Shield only does 1080p. I just find it bizzar… it used to be fine for longtime connected to my Denon Amp with HDCP 2.2

I’ve had my 2017 Shield for 7 years now, maybe it just went bonkers.
