Nvidia Shield 2015 HDR Not Working

Hi Everyone,

I was hoping if some of you guys can help me with your vast knowledge.

I can’t seem to figure this out, I have a nvidia shield 2015 and thr hdr is not working properly on kodi or stremio but its working fine for Live TV for example I’m watching a 4k sports channel and hdr clicks in I get the notification but nothing happens on kodi and stremio the picture is grainy and cloudy it just doesn’t click in for some reason I’ve tried countless settings on the shield kodi itself, but cant figure it out.

I know my shield is old and only supports HDR10 and that is what im trying to play not playing Dolby vision or anything.

Help would be really appreciated.

How is the Shield connected to your TV?

Directly to the tv.

All I can think, at this point, is there maybe something wrong with the HDMI port or the cable. I do recommend a complete power cycle. Shut everything down including your modem and unplug the TV and the Shield. Change the cable and make sure it’s a high speed cable, switch ports, plug everything back in and reboot everything. And see if that clears the issue. I do know that HDR was added as an update to the 2015 Shield in 2016 so make sure everything is updated.
