NordVPN Announces Threat Protection Threat Protection from NordVPN works in conjunction with standard VPN technology…
Checked on Nord on Amazon firestick for first time in a while and it the screen came up and then disappeared and can’t seem to determine if it is working.
Suggestions will be good.
Did you uninstall/reinstall to see if that helped any?
@Miki Hey Miki, I cant believe you switched from Proton VPN to Nord VPN, what was the turning point in switching? Price?
Proton has escalated their policy changes and app updates without any streaming customer input. They continue this “well this is for your own good” attitude, when in fact it’s for theirs. The last straw, for me, was making their apps so difficult to access and configure and their instructions completely ignore the entire streaming community. The latest changes to their VPN no longer giving you full access to the servers but instead telling you which are best for you and limiting your choices to just 12 to 14 servers at each location. Now I can no longer access servers I had found that actually give me access to debrid services as an example. Their answer was to “search” for the server number. Well guess what? You can only do that on a laptop or desktop.
Once again proving that Proton is not a streaming friendly Service. So my sub is up in March, and time to move on.
We use nord basic , it randomly changes by it self , we tried the free trial with porton that just sits in Japan . I did try Troy’s favorite surf shark last year it was random off and on and their 30 day money back was a no . So just to be clear you’re in Canada and use the level up from basic?
Nord settings allow you to set an “auto connect” setting for the VPN and choose where you connect to every time you start your device up.
Oh and yes I got the mid tier with the password vault and cloud storage. NordPass, NordLocker and NordVPN.
Good to know that makes sense and thanks for the info on porton .

Nord also provides a dedicated IP address that’s works on android devices.
Yes but that tends to make it quite expensive. I believe it was an extra $4.85Cdn./mth.
I also used NordVPN and Nordpass, I switched over to surfshark when my sub expired because of the unlimited devices, but I kept Nordpass, nice having all my passwords and login info all in one secure place ![]()
