It only works with vlc as external player and not even other players.
As i said, it may be my tv box issue. I cannot think of anything else

Just don’t buy iptv purple. I paid $30 for it and we still had advertisements and they couldn’t fix it. They told me to ask google for a refund and google declined it. Another waste of money for trying apps and providers
My first Onn box had serious sound issues. It also had other issues, so I believe it was just a bad box. It would have no sound most of the time, the sound would come on sometimes, it was frustrating. I retired the box before figuring out what was wrong and why it happened, but I figured it was a bad sound card or whatever they use in those small boxes. My second Onn seems fine in that regard.
I’m not sure if that helps in this regard, as you mention it works in an external player. But guess it is a possibility.
