Alleviate what issue? The original post was solved and didn’t even have anything to do with the Shield. As far as the other person’s issue with the flash drive, I’m not sure why that would happen. Maybe didn’t check the fan speed settings. Mine is set to “coolest" or whatever that setting is. So, the fan runs faster and more frequently. I also keep my Shield in a well ventilated area. My USB ports are set to always on. Again, the only issues I’ve had with my device being sluggish was caused by the apps I had installed and allowed to run in the background. I force close apps as soon as I’m done using them. And I try to at least reboot the entire device once per week.
I’ve had one (maybe both, can’t remember) of my Shield boxes reboot itself while using TiviMate - this has only happened since version update to 5.2.0 & interestingly enough, around the same time of night & when i am watching a particular VOD show (Breaking Bad).
Never had a freezing issue but have to reboot the living room Shield due to WiFi not connecting on start up - modem/router is in the bedroom, about 20 ft. away down the hall.
Mine has been working fine since I disconnected my timer. But you are right since the last update I have had some small issues with mine also.
@Jayhawks659 Possibly a small misunderstanding. I was referring to @Storminnorman issue with his comment that his flash drive was over-heating and burning up. I recall reading, in other places, that this can occur.
I have the TDUK app killer installed on my Nvidia Shield Pro an I kill all the back round apps but after I do that I double click my right button it’s still brings them up in the back round . Then I have to kill them again . Shoudn’t the TDUK app killer do all of that ?
Don’t know. I use background apps and processes task killer. But you can do the same thing from the built in Shield menu with a few extra clicks. Just bring up the menu, go to apps, click on your recently opened apps and force close them. The only drawback is it won’t show you a list of all the ones currently running.
Yeah, but you wouldn’t use a short HDMI cable for a flash drive. That’s why I was confused.
There is a shortcut for doing that with the remote. Double click the home button fast and background running apps will stop running.
I was just recalling the olden days when we used an OTG cable to add memory to our Firesticks.
