New Walmart Onn 4K box and Tivimate

Just bought the new Walmart ONN 4K box and attempted to install Tivimate 2.8 premium version. It installed, but will not open. I did not run into this problem on the older version of the Walmart ONN box. Could this be because we now are dealing with Google TV rather than android TV? Appreciate any input on this matter.

Follow Troypoint video on the new Walmart Onn box. Go to settings, apps and scroll down to Security and turn off Scan apps with play protect.
