New / Unread Items not working properly

Something strange has started to happen during the last several days - everything worked fine before this - I routinely use a few PCs/laptops and it’s happening on all of them

When I open https://troypointinsider.com I get a count of ‘New’ and ‘Unread’ threads, if I click on ‘New’ it works properly and shows me a list of new threads

If I click on ‘Unread’, I just get a screen saying that there are no unread topics but returning to https://troypointinsider.com shows the ‘Unread’ count again - if I look in the thread list I can see that some of the threads that usually appear as ‘Unread’ have new replies but clicking on ‘Unread’ never shows them

Any ideas?

Same thing has happened to me twice over the past 3 days. The first time cleared itself after a day or so. Its now showing 1 unread item. But, once clicked no item is there. See just taken screenshoots.

I wonder if there’s been a software update @TROYPOINT ?

I thought it was just me. I see it is not just me.

Interesting…I’ve never paid attention to New or Unread. Using Dark Mode all the New posts are always listed at the top in bold font for me

@SoloWarrior- that looks like the mobile version rather than the full-fat PC/Laptop browser version

This is on my Google Tab running droid 16. Clicking the Troypoint icon on thr header, top left, updates the page. Mine always lands on this page when I open it and then clicking the highlighted unread opens just those.

Very hard to find…Click on your Avatar - click on Profile - Preferences - Interface - Theme. choose light or dark

Apologies - I use dark mode and get the ‘New’/ ‘Unread’ at the top of the page - strange if you don’t get them…

No worries, I get New/Unread but have never used them as everything New or threads with new comments are always listed at the very top with the number of new or unread posts. I never even noticed there is a New/unread until you started this post

Hello Everyone,

I’m personally not seeing this on my Android phone or PC but there is usually an update every week or two so maybe something happened in the last one.

I would suggest clearing your browser cache and see if that fixes the problem.

Something else I’ve noticed is having my ad-blocker on lately creates all kinds of problems with the website as well so that might be worth looking into.

It’s very odd, and it may be a coincidence, but I switched from ‘Dark Mode’ to ‘Light Mode’ and then back again and the ‘Unread’ has started to work again

I just did the switch, but didn’t clear.

I cleared cache and that worked for me. Thanks.

I spoke too soon, the issue is back this morning - even clearing the cache for the page doesn’t seem to work.

Edited to add:

It definitely seems to be a site thing (possibly something stored in my site user profile) as I’ve just tried visiting using Opera and it still happens - I’ve never previously visited Troypoint.com or TroypointInsider.com using Opera so there’s no cookies, cached data etc. to complicate matters
