The beta of Nexus showed up on my devices. A rotating IP Address. The location remains the same but the address changes every 10 minutes
Sweet…just looked on mine but no beta trial for moi’. If I can stay on my fastest server & all that address switching constantly goes on, that’s pretty cool…I’m liking that feature
Got an email this morn from them touting this new feature
For anyone interested…
Well dang…I’m feelin’ like the proverbial red headed stepchild…I didn’t get an email or anything on my app…
Well that would make sense…cause even I’d never join a club that would have me as a member
I got an update and when I started Surfshark a message popped up about the new rotating IP feature. Haven’t tried it out though.
Yeah, I read a little about that, but haven’t researched it thoroughly. Sounds like a nice feature, though.
What the heck are they using to notify me…pony express That’s got to be the 3rd Insider that’s gotten some kind of notice.
Might be some kinda slow roll out. Yesterday my desktop pc started notifing me every so often of an ip change. I saw the email a day or 2 earlier and all of a sudden my ip changes…stange thing is even tho im told ip has changed the actual ip number does not.
So when you do an IP check it shows you it’s the same, yet out in the world its switching on a steady clip? And your computer is verifying it…so to speak.
pretty much. My vpn is router based which my linux box connects to wired. My linux desktop has a ip change notification sound that alerts me to any change or drop. However I just hear the notification and my ip appears to be un-changed. I havent dug deeper than that just know its working. I get no indication on my phone about it.
Copy…very cool…I hope you can regulate the notification sound, otherwise it’s gonna be like a smoke alarm with a dead battery
Here is a good brief explanation I found during my research. From Surfshark: Nexus SDN(Software Defined Network)
“Our solution is Nexus – a technology that connects all our existing VPN servers together. Connecting to Nexus means that your traffic gets routed through a whole network of servers rather than a single VPN tunnel. This obscures and hides your traffic, stabilizes performance, and enhances your VPN connection speed.”
FYI Nexus I think is a Cisco project and Cisco has been into security since computers and the WWW. first began.
yea…I already changed the “boing” sound to a golf ball putt sound
Some good stuff there…."This obscures and hides your traffic, stabilizes performance, and enhances your VPN connection speed.” All this, over & above what I thought was a pretty good service to begin with…wonder if this new stuff was already in the works or the merger with NordVPN spurred it on.
Think of giving this a try. Currently using IPVanishVPN. How does it compare?
I’ve had both & am a bigger fan of SS…nothing against IPV tho…
