Bought one yesterday in Surprise, AZ. $19.88 + tax. They had many in a locked display. Spent about 20 minutes looking for someone to open the case.

for $20ā¦itz a great little box to practice and learnā¦i have one, that is now a back up for me, but when i was using it i had no complaintsā¦sure it aint no shield but not everyone has that in their budgetā¦i am saving up my pennies, but i think i will go for the Ugoos UT8 if and when the time presents itzselfā¦my surgery co-pay bills are starting to roll in an all i can say is DAMN IT MANā¦

Iām saving money for a top of the line device as well. I am back and forth with getting a better device. As long as we can add external storage, Iām good. I donāt do iptv nir download movies. I only stream on my device. Iām just tried of amazon restriction, so was going to try the walmart ONN box.

All the Wal-marts in my town, 6-8 of them are sold out and have been. Iāve checked every town where relatives live, same thing, sold out. They holding up sales for the big reveal?

LOL What do you need support for. No of course you are not going to get support (or Android OS updates) but what do you need support forā¦ Getting support for anything means you pay more. These are cheap boxes that are fantastic IMO!
I think he meant it doesnāt have the AV1 codec.

Iāve had these boxes for more than 5 years. I donāt even know what the AV1 Codec is? But I donāt think Iām missing out on anything

Whether you are or you arenāt, I was just clarifying his statement. It is an old box, so no it wouldnāt have the newest standard.
what benefit if any does the AV1 Codec give me. Iām getting 4K and 1080 streams consistently with plenty of playable sources. What am I missing out on? please be specific

Itās just the newest up and coming standard. Whether you care to know about it now or not, you will hear plenty about it later. It has to do more with video compression and achieving the same video qualities with less bandwidth. Just like anything nowadays, the goal is to always strive to increase efficiency.

You seem to have a axe to grind. AV1 is good for video, allows for larger files to play while cutting down bandwidth to play them so you dont need a whole lot thus reducing buffering on lower tier speeds. Is it a major deal no not really, but it is very helpful and useful if the hardware you have has it and playing a link in AV1. But if you have good downspeed no it does not matter in the long run.

The new Onn Tv box, are you able to increase storage using USB stick? The Old Onn TV box required A complicated re-programming to work with extra storage.
