Imho, I would just dump anything Amazon and be done with it. If enough people did that. Then maybe Bezos would take notice and backoff a bit. All these big companies only understand one thing…M O N E Y !

It was only a matter of time. I was reading an article earlier how google is pivoting and hiring more people for the android market. A few years back google didnt really care for android and concentrated on chrome os but now they see people really like android and have a new tablet set to launch soon…so expect them to start screwing up the platform in the near future.
I still say long term that stock android is the way to go and even then who knows.

Price difference is the issue. Firestick Max $40. Buzztv $200. What is equivalent to max that is $50 and I will buy it.
Personally, I don’t consider any Amazon devices to be cord-cutting tools anymore, so trying to compare the two is apples to oranges.
You really cant compare the 2, both on different levels. You kinda just have to do research and know what you want.
Do you want subscription paid apps? Certified box
Do you not care about that? Everything els. Also real debrid allows you to get that content. Buzzbox is a fantastic device i own one and blown away by it.

In my opinion, Amazon devices are just going to be what a Roku device is currently. Some could argue maybe Android/Google TV may eventually be that way. That could happen, but I believe Amazon’s full blown change from side loading is more imminent based on their current control on their devices. Roku isn’t a bad device at all, it depends on personal preference and what you want to get out of cord-cutting.
Just want the freedom to be me and do what I want with what I buy. Do you really own these things? If you can’t do what you want with them then you don’t really own them. In fact, when you buy one they own you. They control the content. Therefore, they control the messaging.

For $125 Amazon bucks, I would kick in another $75 and buy a Nvidia. That’s a no brainer!
I wish I could get the 3rd gen Cube and switch operating systems/extract all Amazon stuff. What a waste of a really terrific cpu.
Got a KM1 Deluxe for $60 with 4, 32 and decent processor. Hard to beat the performance per buck. Does the new Cube stack up to that?

I am able to download and install launcher manager from Troys toolbox. It works well, but when I turn the TV off and come back the next day, launcher manager is gone from the fire stick and needs to be reinstalled. Anybody else with this issue?
It is the cat and mouse game between the developer and Amazon that the article talks about. They will go to any length to make sure we can’t have what we want.
