I just purchased a new TV.The TV is Fire TV based so I never, for a moment, thought that there would be any issue with my Cube. Was I wrong in my assumption. Kodi, Surfshark, Analiti, Smarttube were not there. I knew that I had turned off “Automatic Offload” so figured that I was ok there. I remembered that Troy had done a tutorial on bringing back off loaded apps so I read through that. But that was not what was happening. Anyway I plugged in my Shield Pro, and everything was there.
So when I tab on the addon icon I get these messages. And I don’t know what to make of it. Worse case I can just delete the addons and reload. But I’m just baffled why the Fire TV is having an issue with the Fire Cube.
Did you ever have a USB stick attached and put say your Kodi app on it, or did you just put Kodi on the cube? When I see the above screens it makes me think that your system is not recognizing the cube and you are just running off the TV. Now I don’t have a cube or FireOS but on ky TV when it fires up and displays the TV’S home screen, I have to wait for about 30 seconds while the system does all it’s startup protocols and then the P6L has completely booted up and the TV recognizes the input from the P6L and auto switches to it. Do you have a row of icons with things like “input”. Is there a small icon that shows your Cube dipsplay? If so can you click on it?. You probably have done all that but just curious.
No, I’ve never had to use a USB stick since the Cube has more than enough on-board memory for my needs. When I have the Cube plugged into USB port 1, it is noted in a small pop-up. If I switch to USB port 2 (Shield) I get the pop-up saying that USB port 2 is active and all works as expected for the Shield.
I just thought that it was all very strange. I was assuming that it would be just plug n’ play with the Cube. I will most likely nuke the Cube and reload. The native Fire TV, jokingly, is SO LOADED with all the junk that you can’t off-load! For reference, the TV is the Hisense Qled (2025 model).
I wanted to grab one before the prices sky rocketed.
