Not only was the Mike Tyson VS Jake Paul main event a joke, Netflix couldn’t handle the traffic! Millions of viewers encountered major buffering on Saturday night during the biggest fight of the year. This is the first time Netflix has dipped their toes into a live sporting event of this size. There’s been rumors…
Your IPTV service had a few hundred linked up. Netflix had multi MILLIONS! A huge difference as to why an IPTV would have worked better. I used the very popular TVapp and it buffered terribly.
I understand that. My point is that the IPTV service had contingency plans in place for possible buffering that would occur on the Netflix platform by offering multiple streams from different sources (accounts).
My experience same as Troy, however my Netflix app showed an error when trying to play video. My iptv service worked for rest of the night.
Same for me. Netflix took a sh1t during second fight. SportsFire app worked for the rest of the night with a few glitches which was surprising to me.
I forgot to try the stream-sportsfire apps.
was it there and did it play?? Anyone.
…
Whoops, missed the above comment, sorry.
Anybody else?
Yes it did buffer a lot. I just simply hit my back button on firestick and started it again. When starting again it started about 2 seconds behind so I didn’t miss anything. Sort of monotonous but I didn’t miss anything.
Not only were there buffering issues, but there were quality and pixilating issues as well. In addition, the fast forward didn’t work when you paused it during the 4 hour pre-fight. Just a totally disappointing experience! It really took the bloom off the rose for me. Also, the time the fight actually went off was deceptive as well.
My IPTV buffered, just switched to a different stream, worked fine. Personally the ladies fight and one of the men’s fight were much better than the Tyson fight I thought. (not the one with the Indian fighter who cornered the opponent)
This disappointed me so bad that I am ready to take on Jake Paul anytime myself. Just please don’t mention that to him…
Not only did my Netflix keep buffering, but my Spectrum internet service had an outage on and off from about 8:30pm to about 11:45pm. I was able to watch the fight at 12am, but it did keep buffering on Netflix. IPTV service i had was buffering also, so it did not make a difference. I could not get sportsfire to load due to internet service. Go team!
No buffering on Canadian Netflix … just a little on my IPTV services
When I clicked on to the fight, Netlix came onscreen and told me my TV didn’t support livestreaming! I ended up watching on my laptop.
I had no buffering im using my own equipment internet service providers equipment is not the best i run a asus gtax11000pro with a arris surfboard s33 for my xfinity account which i use for streaming and i use a additional asus gtax11000pro for my quantumfiber account for gaming which is vlan tagged and signed in with my pppoe credentials i use cloudfare dns servers 1.1.1.1 and 1.0 0.1 on both i use usb 3.0 ethernet adapters on all my streaming devices and all my game consoles are connected with cat 6 and my streaming devices are connected with cat 6 no buffering here you get what you pay for happy streaming every one.
Yeah i had tried kodi and thetvapp and got lots of buffering. Sportsfire wasnt perfect but much better and watchable.
I dont use an IPTV.
You had an option to watch in spanish as well but that link was a few minutes behind the other.
Not only buffering and inconsistent quality issues as it kept switching from standard definition to high but the commentators were not on point; they constantly interrupted each other, too many of them talking at the same time.
It wasn’t a real defining moment with Netflix for me. We’ll see how that handle the NFL on Christmas Day…oh yeah, my Steelers are playing lol…
I too have Netflix (for now) but wanted to see how well it worked on IPTV. It was great, but during Taylor/Serrano numerous service channels were buffering bad, so I went to Netflix thinking I’d be safe. And then Netflix was obviously having issues and looked terrible. By the time Tyson fought I was back to IPTV and then it worked great, just one brief buffer but it was smooth sailing without any problems. After the previous problems, I was surprised it went so well streaming the main event.
I watched my regular Netflix and it worked perfect for me the whole night, not sure why it worked for me unless it had something to do with my internet service.
I used my ROKU to access Netflix. The stream was flawless once the main event started. It was hit/miss during the prior fights but I was able to restart it w/o any issues. Fight was a bigger disappointment than the streaming issues.
They better get it right by the time they broadcast those NFL games during Xmas.
