I have just purchased my second firestick, the first being the 4k and this one being the new 4k Max. For some reason, there are a number of apps that don’t show their associated thumbnail (Picture) of the app on the display. This includes looking at all installed apps. They are there as they can be seen with apps such as Es File explorer
The ones so far that don’t display rather show a box with three small boxes in it and a + sign are
Mx player
Es file explorer
File Synced
These all show just fine on my older 4k. Has anyone had this problem? Could it be a marginal 4k Max stick as it’s new. They have been installed a number of times with the same result. Any insight into this would be helpful. I have thought about a possible RMA and exchange but will try and resolve this first though. Thank you for any help in advance.
Thank you , I will look at that video now. The method using launch didn’t work. The banners do and although it does identify the app, is not all that pretty. I will try the wolf launcher, it was my last resort after I look at that video. Thank you once again. ** Update, well the Side launcher clearly will work but I guess I am going to go with Wolf Launcher as it seems the best of them all. TBC
The main reason this happens is because the Max is on Fire OS 7 and most of the developers have not caught up and are still on Fire OS 6. I use the Wolf and don’t have those blank icons, but did on a customers stick that I set up this morning. Eventually updates will be released.
