I don’t know if I should thank you or curse you for costing me $400 lol. Thanks though. Which one of those codecs in your screenshot is Atmos?
If I remember my codecs its the eac3
Agreed. I’ve owned four models of minix since 2013. But their team had changes, and support virtually stopped since 2019/2020.
Then just under two years ago, they stopped producing android set top boxes, and left us customers high and dry.
Then suddenly Ugoos produce AM8 series, and Minix declare that they are back in Andoid boxes. And developing a new box.
As the SK1 was introduced, Minix develop the U8k…coincidence or…
And it is almost a clone of SK1 specs.
Inboard antennae, plastic housing and similar SOC etc. But still with 64gb chip, running on 32bit.
But at a price of $349, is virtually double the cost of the SK1.
I’ll stick with my Ugoos.

Yea ive had sooooo many ugoos boxes and never an issue that I didnt create
Thank you @Dak7385 !
You’re welcome.
I read through the forum in case @PapaS is still interested. Its just a glitch and emailing support will fix it.
You know I have to ask is the juice worth the squeeze. This box is priced at the higher end of the spectrum for Android set top boxes. I did read over the specs and seemed very good. Me personally I’m very weary of anything that’s not running Android TV wich is a definite deal breaker for me personally. It does come with Android 11 which is says it’s upgradable OTA but already outdated. Just curious if you have to do a backflip or somersault to get this box to upgrade or if it will do it automatically on its own.
In the forums they have already said it will be launched with 11 but they are jumping straight to 14 once its tested and stable.
nope, too expensive for an android tv box
