Mesh setup - pc-WRT10 router

The modem’s web page states it it Mesh capable. All support is in Chinese and the included setup sheet does not provide any guidance. There is also no WPS button on the router. Is this function available? Any help would be appreciated.

This is an English manual. Maybe it would help

Did that help you? Hope it did

Thank you Miki! I reviewed the PDF from the link you provided. Unfortunately, it only dealt with setting up the “parental control” aspect of the router.

This is the router Troy recently prepared an article on because it could incorporate SurfShark and the wireguard protocol. I was able to get SurfShark’s data settings to be used by the router. The setup file received from SurfShark only applied to a server within the user’s specified location. While this was fine, it did not provide for one or more fallback locations to use in case the initial selected server location went down. It was not discussed whether the internet connection would then stop functioning or continue to function using one’s local service provider’s IP address and exposing one’s internet use.

I was unable to “pair” the router to my little repeater units because the repeater units relied on one pressing the WPS button on the wireless router. The pc-WRT10 router aka Comfast Model CF-XR10 does not have a WPS button or documentation about such ability.

I found that the 5Ghz signal from the new router, which is a WiFi 6 AX style router, was not as strong as my old Linksys WiFi 5 AC style router, so I have gone back to using the older Linksys router. I found that when using the VPN within the new router, the green dot app on our Firestick did not indicate we were behind a VPN.

I will keep looking for comprehensive English instructions for the Comfast CF-XR10 WiFi 6 router.

Thank you again!

Hello @glinder keep in mind that they offer a 90-day money-back guarantee if you aren’t happy.

When using a router the green dot notifications do not work as they are specific to an app based vpn approach.

Many routers now days elliminate the wps button/setting due to security issues.

IMHO I would return it due to lack of documentation.

Thank you for the prompt replies and suggestions! I will attempt to track down the vendor and return the WiFI router for a refund.
