Here’s my first impressions video for the new MECOOL KM9PRO MAX 4K GTV Streaming Box.

Note: As mentioned in the video I extracted the remote shortcut app and tried installing it on my Onn 4K Pro but it didn’t work. It must be programmed to only work with this MECOOL device.
I agree. The Onn4k pro has set the bar and it’s really hard to beat. So yes its a waste of your time to do in-depth review of a sub standard box that cost more. imho 
Had my one and only MeCool experience, KM2 plus. It now catches dust bunnies. 
I have one of those doing that same duty! 
I have been using the Onn 4K Pro since it first came out….don’t see a good reason to buy any thing else at this time. BTW I have stopped using any fire sticks . Good bye Amazon ….
I have had no good luck with mecool, ive tried a couple of different models and have nothing but issues. I will stick with the Shield pro and onn for now but would like to try ugoos,but the price is to high for now maybe someday!
The streaming device business has changed so much in the last decade or so. Also with the aid of guys like Troy, Triple and SuperDell just to name a few the streaming population has become much more educated and sophisticated. So these manufacturers that are presenting new devices every year are not getting over so easily as before as we are much more knowledgeable and can pick the decent devices and the ones that are not worth our hard earned $$.
I use and Onn.4k and an Onn.4k Pro and, whilst I rate them, we can’t get them for the same money as Stateside. I paid 50GBP & 93GBP, respectively, here in the UK, so it’s definitely worth reviewing boxes for us outside the US.
That aside, I had two MeCool boxes and after a while I got fed up with them failing, or having to rebuild them after having to restore as the only solution. I’m still using one (infrequently) in a spare room, but there’s hardly anything running on that one so it won’t take much to restore if the need arises. However; I’d quite happily pay 93GBP for another Onn.4k Pro delivered to my door😁
I agree, I don’t use anything regarding Fire stick…I love my Onn 4k
These boxes gives us freedom from Google lockdown on apps. You can’t sideload and use Cinema on Onn. That is just 1 example. I’m sure there are plenty others that Google refuses to let you download. The Goo Police.
You don’t just review the best, that would be ridiculous. You review all that’s in a class so you know where the bar is, what the standard is, etc. And if that’s your job/role, then that’s what you do. I’m grateful for the review so I can make an informed decision and I’m educated on all my options.
I think, IMHO, that we at least need to set a standard, for reviews, or we leave ourselves open to a myriad of reviews for devices, that would be considered, as sub par devices. I think that is perhaps what @TXRon s comment was referring to. Without a level of acceptability the devices that someone like Troy would need to review would be overwhelming. I trust Troy to make that level of acceptability on my behalf, knowing the level of his efforts and accepting his knowledge and trusting he is working for our benefit.
I currently have the latest MeCool. I have had zero issues with it. What I find with these boxes is they tend to get hot and then malfunction. What I did was create a setup with an inexpensive computer fan and ever since then have had zero issues with it. I think if they’d solve this issue, it’d be a great box! Just my opinion.
I also have a MeCool. I have a KM7+. What I did was buy the smallest felt circles for putting on chair feet and put two of them on each corner on the bottom of my MeCool. With an air purifier blowing past it. I t has not overheated in the two years I have owned it.
