I need to get Netflix installed and working on this device. It is not in Play store and nothing found useful here. Has any progress been made in solving this problem

This is from Troy’s Tutorial
 “You cannot play Netflix in HD on this device. Yes, you can sideload a Netflix APK onto it but it will lack HD playback.”

Hello, we have a Netflix modded app in our Toolbox that you can use. You need mouse toggle and it only plays in standard def.

Thanks to everyone for advise. I had a MECOOL KM6 and a BUZZTV 5 and neither fullfiiled what I needed.

Need to interface with Harmony Elite and be able to control a tv. Neither did it all.

So back to Firestick MAX and all working for what I want. Wasted hours. I am throwing out the MECOOL KM6 an BUZZ Classic

The firestick max even tho full of ads is still a very capable streaming device and if it suits your needs, happy streaming. I have a fire cube 3 which is in my daughters room and it suits her perfectly.

But before you throw away your MeCool and Buzz boxes, you could always concider donating them to TUMMG–Troy’s “Unofficial” Misfit Member Group – of which I am the Founder, CEO, CFO, VP, ED, COPD, MMIC, LOTP, and all around good guy
Oh Yea, for the sake of transpearity and keepin’ it real, I’m also the only member, recruiting ain’t my strong suit

Thanks! MECOOL already gone and am keeping BUZZTV Classic and hoping Netflix will work in future. Other than Netflix this is a good box

I hereby request membership to the newly founded and aptly named Troy’s “Unofficial” Misfit Member Group. I can serve as the CTNF (Chief Tech-Nerd Flunky) and have the wrinkled creds to prove it. At one of our first (of many unnecessary) meetings, I shall propose a Group name change to a simpler TUMS. Troy’s Unique Member Society. I already have a sponser in mind by the antacid maker TUMS so as to alleviate cross-branding confusion. (And / or a lawsuit !) Only Those with a minumum of 1 unused or outdated Streamer sitting in a drawer somewhere need apply. :zany_face:

Just received an Mecool email stating they are pausing shipments to US due to tariffs:

 There was a youtube video that showed how to get a full blown netflix on that box but I couldnt find it
and come to think of it I might have posted it here on TP forums
 might need to dig a little and see if its here somewhere.

yea they sent me an email..the only mecool box I ever bought was very disappointing, and cost more than many other famous brand names. I sure won’t miss them.

I had applied that patch to my old KM6 and it worked well,
for a while. Apparently Netflix figured out how to detect/disable it as Netflix would no longer play. I’ve still got an old KM6 unit I use for backup, and I may try Troy’s file to see if it works, even if not in 4K.

I bought a couple different mecool models and will never by again. I was mainly testing and failed to meet my streaming needs. Better more expensive and less expensive devices available.

Problem is NOT the devices but Netflix.

If you require official Netflix app - maybe your tv can install or already has Netflix app / below streaming box
