Class Action Law Suit in 3…2…1…
dont ya love the class actions…$1 for thee and 10 million for me
and yet they can’t seem to notify authorities of crazy people wishing to do harm to others.I guess they only spy to make sure folks aren’t stealing tv or cell phone service…
point being what and whom exactly are they spying on?
According to my sources that isn’t you in the photo
That’s a pic from his younger days.
Google quickly tries to distance themselves from this while at the same time they auto opt-in you to their “Track My Device” for all your android devices. SMH
Never had or will own a cell phone.
I’m sure the backlash will be short lived and their software will continue to operate. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to find out that this is basically “private sector PRISM” either. Lots of shady stuff happening nowadays… when do you think the social credit scores start?
easy i use use sign language
and I refuse to use a computer!
OK. The feds are not allowed to monitor private convos w/o a warrant. They are, however allowed to BUY data from telcos and other communications dept. to do with what only they know to do. They might say, to secure people…yeah right secure their hold on the rest of us.
I like their answer.Such actions violate their ad policies. Not mentioning that it infringes on citizens rights. They didn’t invent the internet for our convenience. I’ve read somewhere in the past that all our US phone calls go to Israel and is monitored this AI that is out there is more than what they’re letting on to. And this is just one example. Anyone want to take a vacation in Guantanamo Bay Cuba. You can get away with anything there if you become a resident.
Personal privacy is fleeting idea. In a movie call “Minority Report”, Tom Cruise entered a mall. The retinal recognition system welcomed him into the Gap store and started making recommendations suggesting things he might be interested in. I got a bit of a shiver when I watched that scene just knowing that that day will come.
My mailbox is overflowing with emails from Amazon saying “We found something you might like”. It’s not quite the same thing as a personal phone eves dropping.
Damn Jerry, I buy tons of stuff on Amazon and don’t do anything to conceal my identity or anything like that. Are you sure you are getting marketing emails from Amazon? Been buying stuff from them for probably 2 decades. Don’t use a VPN and use my real email and never not once received an email from them recommending things to me. WOW
I agree with @MarkxG i dont get the emails either.
@JerryJ check your amazon account settings, you may have Purchase Reminders being used in messages. That would explain the emails.
I get the occasional Alexa reminder when they want me to buy something again. Its annoying but not that frequent.
And the Minority Report scene is funny when he has someone elses eyes…
I truly hope you and others follow up on this.
Thank you for being vigilant.
No major News Media Group has picked up on this.
I am disappointed by this:
My search. No big news outlets are covering it.
Mark, I never use a VPN on my desk top and of course use my real address since I want what I buy to come to my address. I also buy way too much stuff from the BIG A. I do keep a lot of stuff in my cart to catch a deal or to remind me that I need to order this and that.
I tried to take a screen shot of one of the “We found something that you might like” emails that I got today. But there is personal info on it that I can’t figure out how to delete.
Bottom line why would I make this up? I thought that everyone got these. I don’t mind getting them as I can delete at will.
Hi Jerry.I do not get recommendations for Amazon via email. It might be your selection in preferences/settings.I am no Amazon expert…but I never get emails…texts about delivery by request…no emails…I hope you find an answer.
I do get recommendations via MY CART or the Home Page…
