What is it? What is it used for?
Took me only a few seconds to Google it.
InputStream Adaptive (inputstream.adaptive) is a binary kodi addon that acts as a demuxer for segmented, multi-bitrate internet streams. On Kodi, InputStream Adaptive serves as a client for adaptive streams and can even play DRM content using an external library. It is an essential component for many popular video addons including Hummingbird, Netflix, YouTube, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video and SGK Live-Portal.
Is this something I need? I am trying to understand the information you provided and I sincerely thank you for your time.
Depends on what you are using. It’s a dependency, meaning some apps may require that it be installed to run properly. If you are getting an error message then you probably need to update it to the newest version.
I’m not able to play any content in Daddy live (and maybe elsewhere) because I need to install InputStream Adaptive. But when it try to install, a message saying that installation failed. I also tried to install it manually. It’s version peak3d-20.3.12 in Kodi Nexus 20.2 running on a Nvidea Shield Pro, Android TV 11… Really hope someone can tell me how I can install this add-on…
Go to Addons and then click on search and when you search for ‘inputstream’ it will come up with a list and you choose the latest version and install it from there. I just installed peak3d-20-3-12.1 without an issue.
Thanks for trying to help. I did what you said, but as you see in the pic, there is not .1 after 20.3.12 on mine. Do you get a different search result?
This is the list I get. I’m running LIBREelec, which is a Linux based Kodi and that’s all it runs, Git: 20.2-Nexus Build 20.2 (20.2.0)
Ok. Very different from mine. I guess I just have to wait for a update then … But thanks alot for taking your time to try to help me ,…
The subject dependency is also use by the Crew addon. So if you install Crew, you’ll get it.
Anytime I’m loading up Kodi on a new box, I always install the Crew first thing as it will pull in several dependencies used by many of the other addons.
Ok. Nice tip. I will certainly install the Crew and see what that will do… Thanks
I’ve just looked at a fresh install of Kodi on my PC, without any addons, and Riceyepie is correct because when I search for Inputstream again it only comes up with the same list as you posted earlier but I have the Crew on the machine I showed you a list of earlier.
Well, I installed Kodi on another laptop, and installed Crew as the first add-on. But it’s the same problem. I think I just have to forget about DaddyLive on Kodi. No big deal, I can always get the channels somewhere else, I guess. But thanks alot to you guys for helping.
