does anybody know why MLB quit working with the crew with kodi
That would be a question for the developer of The Crew. It has been that way for several weeks now and been discussed numerous times on this forum. The simple answer is they quit maintaining the sports tab. Hopefully it will be back for football season. Otherwise, you will have to subscribe to an IPTV service to get the sports programming you want.

As mentioned above, its literally all over the forums. My suggestion would be to move away from crews iptv or kodi’s iptv period.
