Kodi 21.3 Omega Release - Features, Updates, & Install Links

Please keep us updated. Always good to hear what insiders have to say and experience.

All worked perfectly updating from the TP Toolbox. Flawless! I’ll try the 64 bit later on the AM9.

That would be fantastic. I am always curious if others find the 64 bit versions of apps run better or no different than the 32 bit releases.

I downloaded 21.3 from Kodi.TV, installed it over 21.2 and everything seems to be OK. Having said that, I never had any problems with 21.2 (or earlier versions - any problems were invariably with the add-ons).

Would the 64 bit version work on the ONN Pro?

I don’t believe the ONN is a working 64Bit OS, just 32.

I installed over my existing and didn’t lose anything!

@Ciderman , @Miki …. i found this
The Onn 4K Pro Streaming Device features a 64-bit capable processor, specifically the Amlogic S905X4 SoC, which is a 64-bit ARM-based CPU. However, despite the hardware’s 64-bit capability, the device runs on a 32-bit version of Google TV 12. This means that while the processor can handle 64-bit operations, the operating system is limited to 32-bit mode, which can result in a performance reduction of approximately 30-40% in real-world use compared to running a 64-bit OS.

The Onn 4K Plus, while not detailed in the provided context, is likely similar in architecture to the Pro model, as both are part of the same product line from Walmart. The Pro model’s 32-bit OS is a common choice among budget streaming devices, as it frees up more RAM and provides better performance for most streaming applications, which do not require 64-bit architecture. However, this limitation becomes apparent when trying to run newer applications that are dropping support for 32-bit systems. For instance, some apps may not install or function properly on the Onn 4K Pro due to its 32-bit OS, even though the underlying hardware is 64-bit capable.

In summary, the Onn 4K Pro is a 64-bit capable device but runs on a 32-bit operating system, which impacts performance and compatibility with newer software. The Onn 4K Plus is expected to have a similar setup, though specific details are not provided in the context.

Sorry my bad. Poor wording on my part. I should have said that the ONN devices are only capable of installing and using 32 bit apps. Tx for the clarification.

Thank-you for the information. Any suggestions for the next level device? I don’t want to spend any more than necessary to end up with a capable, dependable device? My TV is 6 years old. Roku based.

Same as the Firesticks - 64 bit hardware but 32 bit OS. I guess its because most apps out there are still 32 bit.

Many here have the Ugoos AM9 and I LOVE MINE! I’ve been cheaping out for years with boxes under $100 but this AM9 is worth the $150 +/- you gotta pay. It does 64 bit too.
