I believe you made the right move. Over the years, I have really soured on Mecool boxes. They haven’t been dependable for me, their customer service and box updates are non-existent…they just aren’t good imho. I have the G2, and while I haven’t tested their customer service, it is one of the most dependable boxes I own.

I have one bought it over a year ago was android 11 now its updated to android 14 today. Great box not had one problem with it. Ive sent away for another one today. Works great.

Just ordered one off amazon thanks to a tip from a fellow cord cutter got it for $69.99 with a $20 off coupon. Looking forward to trying it out.

Got my G1 Kinhank in yesterday, got it from AliExpress £43. Came with Android 14, have Kodi installed on it, I do not run iptv. I am very impressed with how smooth and fast it is, it streams very smooth with no buffering, it seems at the moment it is far superior to my Firestick 4k max. If it keeps going well I will get another for bedroom. Get rid of the Firesticks all together.

Got mine Monday, had to update it to android 14. It’s very responsive, and with the extra Gb of ram I rate it ahead of the Onn 4k pro. It can also support coreelec Linux distribution based on Kodi
Nice mate, was looking for onn 4k first but in uk could not find someone i thought was a reliable seller, but glad I didn’t, find it. Then the mecool, as you guys advised not getting, thank you for that. So happy with it so far.

Did your G1 update to android 14? Are developer options password protected?
Asking as ive just ordered one just to play about with, as ya do lol.
Hi, it came with android 14, updated firmware to 14.0.5 on startup, to get developer options, needed to go to Settings, device preferences, about, then down to bottom of screen to Android TV OS build, and click on it about 7 times and it will tell you that you are a developer, go back to device preferences and it should be there. Hope this helps.
Going to get another 1 it is far better than Firestick.
Ive just ordered one on aliexpress got it for £36. Im fine getting to developer options, its just i read that it was locked down and needed a password.

Mine seems to be fine, no password needed. Checked for updates, there all upto date.
