Jailbreak a Roku Ultra

I don’t think he was asking if anyone here had a tv box that can hover

I lived in Mexico 35C during the day with a humidex of 45 and never once had any overheating issues with my max. I use the hdmi extender to keep it away from the back of the tv. A little usb fan can really help with any overheating or you can add a heat sink and fan. Lots of inexpensive ways to reduce this sort of issue if you have one.

Obviously I was half joking in my post, but I was half serious too. I prefer active cooling that my Shield has, but I dont know of any other boxes with it. So i put fans on literally every main box that I own, like the one pictured. Also my modem and anything else that looks hot. :fire:

Good idea and I have those same ledge stands for my 2 boxes. Works a treat.

heres the heatsink on the new ugoos, as well as all metal housing which adds cooling

Oh and when it arrives it will look similar to @AMD237 's pic as I have that same fan waiting. I remember when @PapaS got his fan, he thought it was a window fan :joy:…but he got the hang of it :joy:

He said, “Built-in”, NOT built on! LMAO!

So, Miki, you all settled in in your new digs?

Btw, you don’t need a fan for your device now. However, you may need a heater! lol

I do not want to offend Troy or the moderators, I will not post links. I will only tell you what I do. I went on Amazon and searched for a Android TV box. It came with the latest version on Android loaded and from there I loaded the latest version of Kodi from Troy and then I picked a Kodi build that I perfer. Some are not comfortable doing all of that I know. I am only giving the option that I use.

No issues with mentioning the box you bought. We all have different flavors from firesticks to shields and everything in between. :+1:

Let me ask the question of this topic in a different way, why would somebody buy a Roku versus a fire stick.?

They would buy one for their Grandma :astonished:. Seriously though, I’m sure there are plenty of people not interested in piracy or local file libraries. Roku is perfect for them. Plain, simple, no-frills, install Netflix, Hulu, or whatever and go.

Same goes for a cheap firestick 4k max. You don’t have to jailbreak it or do anything other than log in with your Amazon account. Plug it into an hdmi port on any Smart TV or even a Roku, install you tube and netflix, and away you go.
Have fun and STREAM ON!!!

Thank you Ron. I also do not want to step on the toes of any sponsor of the channel. I have been following Troy since the very early YouTube days. Now this webpage is my go to for anything KODI related. A great service is provided here for guys like me that were cord cutters before the word was invented. Thank you and everyone on the TroyPoint Staff for all you do.
