Hi All
I’d like to know how to jailbreak a Smart tv with Fire tv installed. Have done many Firesticks but never a TV! Hopefully it will be very similar to breaking a Firestick!

By jail break you are meaning changing the device firmware, or do you mean downloading and installing apps that aren’t available through the Amazon Playstore?

Ya I think he means turning on ADB and allowing install from unknowm sources (sideloading) and from my reading if it’s the Fire TV OS then it’s pretty much the same as the firestick, just have to find the developer options.

Does there have to be at least Android OS of some variety installed? Not all smart TV’s have it.

No idea, and now I’m curious. If that’s the case the only advantage a stick would have is faster CPU. That alone though would keep me using a stick on a fire tv as there would be smoother playback and better vid.

Thank you all for your replies. It’s a friends tv and I didn’t look at it properly! It’s the same as breaking a Firestick. On the top row just go to settings and do the same as for a Firestick.
