ISP email copyright infringement

Good evening all, I have a question please. I received a copyright infringement email from my ISP yesterday and said they got a complaint from Warner media about copyright infringement. I guess my VPN blacked out I always thought thatit was the ISP who would see something, but is it a media company? Just wondering

You were probably using an app that streams torrents. And your VPN was probably off for a while without your knowledge. What VPN and what app do you use?

I was watching Stremio I have proton VPN, but I guess maybe it cut out?

That’s probably what happened because I’ve used IPTV for years and never had an issue but my friend was watching and she may not have checked to make sure the VPN was on. I just thought it was the ISP who would spy on me and not some media company.

And make sure you use a monitor dot app to confirm the VPN is on.

For your security when using a VPN, always use the “kill switch" found in your VPN app. It is the safest way to protect yourself, as it automatically disconnects your streaming device at the instance your VPN fails. There are some other options available on Troy’ss toolbox, located through the Downloader app, but, the best solution is to use the kill switch within your VPN app!
