What about the Mecool Km2 plus. Troy thought it was very good. Half the price of a Shield.
If you mean for me, I had one and didn’t like it. I gave it away to a kid who didn’t have the money for one in Mexico. To this day he loves it.
I’ve always liked mecool products however don’t expect updates or customer support.

Did you ever get your answer to your original post is the Nividia Shield Pro still the best?
The SHIELD has SYSTEM PICKER which is not available in android 11 or newer unless it’s put there by the designer. Have seen notes about good companies making sure it’s back in to ensure compatibility in future use.
It’s a challenge to make sure what you are looking at for hardware will be compatible with software. Security improvement? Seems to be the excuse for major android changes on a platform that evolves fast.

After a year of experience with Nvidia, FORMULER Z11, Buzz TV U5 128, Firestick, IMO: what function/what box comes down to:
Picture quality - Nvidia
Recording - Buzz TV U5 128 with SSD slot
Interface management - Formuler Z11
Remote - Formuler Z11 (air mouse/good select key feel/number pad)
M3U and EPG integration - Buzz TV5 edges out Formuler Z MyTVOnline 3
Netflix - Nvidia and FS
Ease of use - all of the after learning the individual settings and options and practicing.
If I could only have one, I’d select in the following order:
- Formuler Z11 (over all qualities)
- Buzz TV U5 (if recording is must)
- Nvidia (if Netflix is must)
- Firestick (must be desperate)
Why do you say the buzz is better for recording. I do do a lot of recording myself, I have a shield Pro but at times I still have issues with recording.

How does the picture quality of the formuler z11 compare to the shield?
I think there’s a point where differentiating between the screen quality is almost impossible. I’m no an expert in this area, but I assume the tv (Sony, LG, Samsung) also contributes to the visual experience. I have a Samsung OLED and it’s ok. So, on my tv the Nvidia appears a bit sharper. Having said this, I still think FORMULER Z11 is better overall.
I’ve, also, always had trouble recording to external devices. The Buzz U5 has 32 or my choice 128 gb’s of internal space so, as long as you are not recording to save movies, recording tv shows to watch later in Buzz TV5 (via your streaming service M3U address) is easy.
Also the buzzU5 has an internal bay that you can simply plug say an EVO 512 SSD into, and point your recordings to. Saves having to get an external case for your SSD and use a USB plug. Was the one thing I really liked.

Yeah I use up the internal storage of The Shield Pro pretty quick. In fact one night of recording news and The morning News and it’s full. And I have a problem mainly around midnight my recordings get cut off for some reason. And I’m using an external flash drive 128 gig.
I have a 128 GB ssd attached to my pro via usb and recording is about 1 Gig per hour, so that’s 128 hrs. I never even touch the 16 GB onboard. That’s just over 5 days of 24 hrs a day recording. Then I can eject it and plug it into say a desktop and transfer everything over to it. I used X-plore to give permissions for the data and obb files on both the usb and internal storage for recordings. I use the system picker to change folders if needed from the pro to the SSD. The SSD is set up as removable storage.
