I’ve been using IPVanish for the past year and it absolutely sucks! Is there a better alternative? I’ve contacted them so many times that I have lost count. Changed every setting that they’ve suggested and it still drops at least 5 times a day! I need to find another vpn provider! Help!!!
Welcome to our community.
I don’t have anything negative to say about ipvanish but I’m going to provide a few helpful links.
Go through that.
Only thing I can suggest if you want to switch is nord vpn or pia (private internet access)
Many options posted on this insider, I would use the search function as other members have posted many times and research the findings and pick one that suits your budget and needs.
Keep in mind they all do the same thing for what you need.
I won’t go into a rant as to why I dropped IPVanish. I’m now using ExpressVPN and am very happy with the speeds. Very.
Hello @Shahidmustaf also keep in mind if your Internet connection is dropping, the VPN will usually disconnect as well. IPVanish remains connected for weeks at a time on my Firestick but I also have fiber Internet and it never drops. As the others have said, I would suggest trying a different provider and if you still have problems, it is your Internet. Or, the other VPNs may do a better job of reconnecting in the background when a drop occurs. Good luck.
Thank you. If I’m on kodi, I can always tell when ipvanish drops because my stream starts to go haywire and just kicks me out. Sure enough, when I go to ipvanish it’s disconnected. Thank you for your help.
I have had absolutely no problem with IPvanish Best one I have had. I have fire stick connected by Ethernet and it stays up for hours with no problem
might look at the modem/router as possible source
I’ve had very few problems with IPvanish. I was having a couple of issues over the summer with performance but this was just before they added the wireguard protocol (I think the problem might have been related to their testing of this protocol). Since then, it’s been rock solid.
I suspect the service to your home is the issue. You could ask your ISP to monitor your connection to see if it is external to your home (and independent of your use of IP vanish). Even if your connection is re-established, just having IPvanish running (but not “connected”) can cause funky things to happen…
