It appears that the people from IpVanish have added in their latest update a active vpn indicator that when turned on in settings, displays a dot in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
Wish SS would do that for ALL their platforms. Right now, just tablets and phones have that feature.
Maybe now that IPV added one Surfshark will follow suit?
I haven’t used IP Vanish for a while, but fired it up on an extra 4k laying around. Walk me through how to get this indicator? Or is this just on PC?
We have indicators, free ones. iPvanish, still not enough. Implement a kill switch then people like us may consider using your services again, until then, no.
How do we activate feature? It kicked me out when I trued to got to setup.
Now this interesting. The latest mobile version ending in 159088-gm has added a loss of vpn kill switch you can activate in setup. While the newest version on my Nvidia Shield Pro in setup has the vpn indicator dot you can turn on if your not using another one such as the replacement Vpn monitor app Troypoint recommends using. Remember using two together will cause a conflict. So pick the one that works best for you and turn the other app off.
The vpn indicator dot doesn’t appear on the mobile version. Only on your stand alone box such as Nvidia Shield Pro, and instead a loss of vpn kill switch does. Individually, mobile or set top you will find one of the two on the setup page.
Yes, the free one that Troypoint recommends works flawlessly so far and is what I’m currently using. I just wanted to put it out there the differences between IpVanish mobile and set top versions. Primarily that the latest set top box version includes a loss of vpn indicator setting that can activated in setup.
You can actually use all three VPN indicators with no problem at the same time not that you need to. They will run without conflict and that includes the original one they want you to pay for but in fact can run a few days free until it stops. One click and it’s on again. My favorite and most flexible is the second one that came out privacy dot I believe it’s called, You have control over almost everything. Far superior to the others as I see it. Free. He said there might be ads in the future but not yet and no reason to update. It works perfectly. Thank you for that.
I actually had a issue when safety dot and vpn monitor dot, the one Troypoint likes better, running at the same time on Nvidia Shield Pro. I had read that 2 running at the same could cause problems.
Any advice you can give me it seems my VPN is disconnecting every hour by itself and I can’t figure out why this just started happening and I’ve been using IP vanish for several years
That isn’t good. Your app is up to date/newest version?
I found the option to add the IPVanish VPN indicator but it wouldn’t let me select it. When I tabbed on the option to turn it on it bumped me out to the Amazon main screen.
What device are you using? Could be a compatability issue. I just saw another post that stated being knocked off of IpVanish every 1/2 hour today for some reason.
I had the same problem . Troypoint has a Youtube video with the workaround to utilize IPvanish vpn indicator. I have attempted to add the video. Hope ut helps
WOW Mslea!!! Thank you for the help on this!!! And of course THANK YOU TROY!!!
