IPTV Service: locked or unlocked?

Ok, I realize I’m not the brightest bulb in the box, so can someone explain locked v unlocked and which is better, if there is such a thing?
Thanks

In IPTV locked means you can only use the service at your IP address that you normally stream to when you signed up. Unlocked means you can stream from your IPTV service anywhere you are. Like a hotel when on a trip, on vacation, etc. Which is better is entirely up to the subscriber.

I think they may be referring to geo locking. I do know some sevices lock to one IP Addy, while others it doesn’t matter. So an IPTV service may be locked to one IP address, and you can’t use it elsewhere.
