Yes Tivimate can be done that way.
Settings >General>Auto start app on boot. And Turn on last channel on app start. Then as they seem to have very few channels they can scroll up and down from there.
TiViMate is an IPTV player so you set it up, pay for lifetime premium and enter any of your IPTV suppliers credentials. Now under settings>All playlists>Channels category you can change to Favorites if you like and that will have your channels that they want.
I support Miki’s recommendation for Tivimate and setup. I paid the tiny fee and use it in much the same way and I think it works great. And while I’m here, let me give a big shoutout of recognition and gratitude to Miki for being so awesomely open, knowledgeable, helpful, patient and kind to us all here!! Thank you.
Thank you @finale541 . I’m just a regular old man that loves to learn and who makes mistakes like everyone else. The insider is an eclectic collection of helpful individuals and many have way more knowledge than I do. Be well and have fun.
this is awesome! thanks man!
Hey Neo it’s just the setup that’s difficult, especially when you want to learn how to use the app effectively. Did you get the link with the Tivimate manual? It’s a lot to read but if you’re like me and retired why not dig in and learn
I’ve set up for many seniors. If this is for someone you know, you (not them) can hide the categories they don’t need. If you set all the usual channels they want as favorites, and set the app (in this case OTT Navigator) to go directly to their favorites (category), That make is easy for them. Showing them how to use a search in the app lets them find anything that is not in their favorites. Showing them that long pressing on a channel add it to their favorites. This is not hard to learn. I don’t know how you would make it any easier. I could elaborate more, but a one on one conversation would be easier then text or messages.
Just another thought. You could simply set the channels they want as favorite channels. In the app menu, then hide all of the categories other than the favorites category. Only channels they would see are the ones you set for them. I’m not sure about Tivimate, but in OTT Navigator you could then also hide everything else that may be on the main screen (hide media library, tv guide etc…)
Heyyyy. Way coool @hotwheels tx for the resource. Much appreciated.
this is excellent! thanks for posting!
Question about this (from the guide):
“Set TiViMate to Open On Boot-up and WakeGo to Settings/General and turn on Auto Start App on Boot,Auto Start App on Wake Up From Sleep Mode, and Turn On Last Channel On App Start. What this will do is open TiViMate and be on the channel they were watching when they turned off their TV, this way they won’t have to go to the home screen and start TiViMate.Set Parental Controls”
→ Will this process work on a Firestick 4k Max? Or does this require a “generic” android tv box?
Firesticks are based on Android so it will work the same as ATV or AOSP.
While I think Tivimate is the best app on the market for your application you may want to check out iMPlayer since it has the ability to change many settings and manage playlists, categories etc. via a web dash and can make remote troubleshooting easier.

Enjoy the insider.
I have just started to check out IM Player. Not a bad app and you can customize a lot.
Just want to confirm that tivimate can auto boot on firestick 4k max. I know that launchers don’t auto boot on fire stick (I’ve tried- and can’t get them to auto boot).
If launchers can’t auto boot, how can tivimate?
Anyone have tivimate or any other IPTV app working as auto boot on fire stick 4k max?
I can’t honestly say as I no longer use any 4K Max sticks. Don’t see why it won’t but I also can’t test that statement for accuracy.
I have firecube. Should be the same
Will test. Launcher works fine for me uusing tduk methods
I was using projectivy and “launch on boot” method as posted here: How to Install Projectivy Launcher V4.60 (2025 Update))
- but seems launch on boot doesn’t work on the max4k?
What is tduk method?
