I have an Amazon Fire Tablet (2021 edition 10") and I installed the google play store a while back and it was before I found Troy and figured out how to install Kodi and the various channels and repositories. I am about to go through the Kodi, IPVanish and repository install again on a new Fire Tablet. My question is, do I need the google play store for anything? I’d like to skip that step if I can because honestly, I’ve installed the play store on a few of my amazon tablets and it really slows the tablet down.
So, just trying to figure out if I can take my tablet as is and install downloader, kodi, etc, allow unknown sources, etc from the Fire Tablet without needing the play store.
