Inquiring Minds Need to Know

ProtonVPN takes it one step further and blocks ipv6 completely. Any request for, or connection attempt for ipv6 gets redirected to a “black hole”. No idea what or where that is. :flushed:

Here is a pretty good explanation>>>

Does It Matter If Your VPN Doesn’t Support IPv6? - Tech Advisor

Another cool article, thanks Ron.

“However, if you’re already with NordVPN, Surfshark or another provider which doesn’t yet support the newer protocol, you may find that you can log into your broadband router and disable IPv6 connectivity and then change the settings on your phone to do the same to eliminate the risk of IPv6 leaks.”

Think until further notice, this is the best thing to do for cordcutters. Just turn off IPv6.

actually if you have ipv6 running and use a vpn, most likely they block it anyways, if they dont, better get another vpn :grimacing:… It’s a very common practice and yes my router came from the factory with ipv6 disabled with the option to toggle on if needed. :+1:
