If money wasn’t an object what device would you have

I have heard this community object to Vsee box or Superbox for a legitimate concern. If those companies folded like a cheap shirt you would be out x amount of dollars and essentially left with a paper weight. In retrospect even if it didn’t work after 6 months at current cable/package rates conservatively you would have broken even. I’m just playing devils advocate here.

I currently have 3 different devices

Nvidia Sheild

2 Onn Boxes

Down speed 229.3 Mps

Up 11.3 Mps

My biggest complaint and this goes for every single IPTV services Ive purchased. And there’s been plenty of them they all buffer. I changed the settings on the Sheild and it still buffers. The people that I know who have purchased these boxes claim there’s no buffering. So my question is without purchasing a pre-built box how does one avoid this? I have no problems laying out the $$$$ for another device(s) if it solved this issue to avoid this inconvenience.

Great question @groovey and there are lot of factors when it comes to buffering beyond just the device. Check this out - How to Eliminate IPTV Buffering (Firestick/Android TV)

I have and will always recommend the BuzzTV P6L Ultimate 256. Yes expensive but damn it purrs like a contented lion, and future proof. I don’t use the TV app I use Tivimate. Doesn’t have AI upscaling or Dolby Video but that doesn’t matter to me as my TV upscales and doesn’t play Dolby Video but does play Dolby Atmos and the P6L does do up to HDR 10+ which my TV will play. 32 GBs DDR5 RAM, 256 of storage.

And read Troy’s review of the vSee box. They are basically selling a software package and IPTV service.
Great until it goes POOF!

I would say almost all buffering is due to your IPTV service provider and not the Box based on having widely advertised IPTV services that have websites, discords, social media etc and having a totally stealth service which I have now. But I will say you should check out Amber’s Strong 8K service. It is my backup but it is very good

And oh if money wasn’t an issue I’d choose my current boxes. ONN 4K Pro. Does everything I need with a ton of storage (I don’t have a need to record anything)

I just got in to this android stuff about a year ago, used roku ultras for probably 15 years, I started with the Onn 4K Pro, then bought a plus to set up for someone to try for a few weeks, I liked the Pro better, I also bought a cheap chinese box off ebay, Rupa, it worked well then I forget what happened and I needed to reset it. Picked up and Sk2 and set it up and I like it, also and SK1 but it is still in the box, bought an x88 about 3 weeks before Troys video, ended up with 2 of them because one seemed to get lost, bought an AM8 off someone here the other week and it is working good, it may get slimbox atv on it. And I also had been talking to some Vsee dealers including one local to me, I asked some questions he couldn’t really answer, maybe 2 months later he has a post on FB selling the V6 series and he was selling the 3 plus and 5 Pro, so I asked in the comments if he had a 3 or 5 left. He messaged me and said he had two 3 Plus he took in on trade when people upgraded, 150 each, said they were only a few weeks old and were like new. I bought one because I wanted to try one but didn’t want to drop 250+ to do it.
I will say I can see the appeal of these boxes, great for people that do not know how to find the things we have found or don’t want to put the effort in to doing so. They do buffer, I have experienced it several times even with in the VOD section, the EPG is complete unlike any iptv service I have tried, and there have been many in my short time at this, Not sure on the malware stuff, I have not noticed anything but want to put an app on to see if I can see what is out going. I will say if you are wanting 4K video and all that, probably won’t be happy with it, I didn’t see much it any 4K in the VOD section. For 150 I figure I can get my money back if I decide to sell it. The remote is nice and it works well and once you figure out how to get through the live tv, it is a good box. I have more content available on my other boxes and to be honest if I had bought one before the Onn I would probably have 2 vsee boxes instead of all the others.

I hope the SK1 is the box I read it to be, not sure there is much difference between it and the AM8, only issue I really have is the picture on the AM8 and even the x88 is way different from the Onn 4K Pro.

I love my AM9 but I guess I’d take an SK1 if money was no object. Assume it’s even better than the AM9.

I second the choice of the Buzz TV 6 unlimited… pricey , but worth it!

Dose the SK1 have AL upscaling?

Yes, the SK1 has AI and picture upscaling, but so does the AM9, which has a newer, faster processor and costs around $70 less.

As someone else has said, if you have a decent quality box like the Onn 4K Pro, the remaining variable will be your internet speed from your service. Unfortunately, there are still too many ISPs that throttle your internet speeds, (causing buffering and freezing) if you don’t use a VPN to keep your provider from monitoring it. The only other thing could be your IPTV service if they have too many users and not enough server capacity.

I am quite pleased with my Buzz TV 6 Unlimited but I don’t want to spend another $500 to set up on a second tv. I’m trying to decide on the 8 GB version or the SK1. After reading Troy’s write-up on the SK1 the Android 11 and the fact the only way to have Netflix is with SD. I’m leaning towards the Buzz.

The SK1 is a good second box. As far as netflix goes in the 30 yrs I’ve been on the net I’ve never been on netflix.

I’ve just discovered Neither the Buzz or SK1 support Netflix. Netflix is a must for Momma. I guess we’ll have to figure out that floating remote.

Now that I think of it her hearing and sight isn’t nearly as good as it used to be. Maybe she won’t be able to tell the difference with SD and HD.

A name-brand device (eg nVidia) is pretty important these days.
The no-name Chinese brands could be here today and gone tomorrow!

There may be better boxes but for my use it would be hard to beat my Formuler 11 Max Pro.

I haven’t tried any other high dollar boxes as I just can’t believe there would be noticeable improvement.

OK….how’s this for a smart*** reply….”If money was no object;” How about a state of the art television broadcast studio with all feeds from anywhere. Including those highly encrypted servers Hollywood uses to grant access to VIP’s. Might that be a bundle?:dollar_banknote: :money_with_wings: :dollar_banknote: :money_with_wings:
