Yes . Absolutely cuz as i understand it Sparkle is just a player, like tivimate. So ya install Sparkle player on ur device from TP toolbox n then add on a iptv sub.

I like the replay thing but for me the big miss is not being able to do a search, I have to go thru each and ever line to find things that I watch. I will still use it mainly for the pause, rewind and what not.

Hello @budcat2 you can search in Sparkle. See search icon in image below.

You will see I search for wrestling as an example.

LOL Good one

Maybe because I’m use to Tivimate UI, but I find navigation on sparkle is not as user friendly. I like it alot, and would buy a life time 100%

The face you can’t (or I can’t) access the backup file to import to a new de ice, and the UI are the only 2 reasons I haven’t bought it

Anyone play with the remote button mapping to get a better experience? I mapped the OK button to open the guide.

I have, hold the OK button down to open settings, the down button opens the guide and the up button goes to last channel.

I haven’t used Sparkle TV for around a year after buying it and not being able to get the recording feature to work. The red record button wasn’t showing up and I could get no help so I finally gave up. I haven’t been in here for a while either so I have this question. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what is the solution? I don’t think the Sparke TV IPTV setup guide was here then but could be wrong. Does anyone know if Troy covered the record feature or if any responses discussed it? I am running late for work at the moment so hopefully someone can give me a yes or no. That way I can save valuable time reading Troy’s article later if nothing is there as knowing how to get Sparkle to record is the only thing I am interested in. TIA

Thanks for making it so clear to understand my question i appreciate your info… i dont like too pay for IPTV cause twice i pay and they shut down so i am scared of paying again.

TIP… using timeshift can decrease life of the device by constantly writing/reading and while it might not cause an immediate problem I would suggest using a usb device and set it up as removable storage then in the time shift settings set the buffer playlist location to the usb storage. I use a cheap 32gb stick that works well. This is similar to a roku tv offering a usb slot specifically for timeshift.

If this is the case, I’m gonna have to get this off my UGOOS. It gives no option to set the path to external. Hopefully the developer will fix this. Same with recording, I can’t set path to external. Bye bye Sparkle. :person_shrugging:

it should. I just put the usb in, let it format to internal then told it to set it to external and it did, then I set sparkle timeshift to use external buffer.

I already have a usb formatted to portable storage so I’m guessing I would have to change that which I really don’t want to do so I’ll just stick with Tivimate for now. I don’t really have a need to record much anyway so for now Sparkle is uninstalled. :person_shrugging:

Have you ever used a DVR where you could pause and rewind live tv? That’s it.

I downloaded Sparkle TV and purchased the Plus to have all the bells and whistles. I used the same playlist and channel guide link from Apollo that I used on Tivimate. Channels are there but no future programs are available. They’re all blank. Also, none of the player functions are available (rewind, fast forward, freeze etc.) What am I doing wrong?

To update your epg, go to settings, click on sources and click update at the bottom. To get your player functions working click DVR in the settings and setup DVR location for each playlist. Also in settings click on timeshift and setup Timeshift buffer location. You have to be signed in for this.

welcome

Just out of curiosity, if the app is force closed, is the reading/writing process still going in the background? And if you’re not using the rewind feature at all, is it still causing more wear on my box?
