I need help with VPN blockers

install Proton on your router, and you will like it even more… :ok_hand:

contact ipvanish"s support and they will walk you the correct settings. had same issue years ago and just remember support was able to solve it

Miki, I have proton vpn too. It’s now hooked up via WiFi to my onn 4k pro. W/o vpn 210 mbps, with vpn best I can get is 55 using different servers. I haven’t tried any DHS server changes yet. You got a hint at why vpn so slow comparatively

Sorry I don’t. On my Firesticks, Shield pro, Buzz U5, MeCool KM2 and phones + Tablets I have no speed drop at all.

Like @Comtech I’ve been streaming for over 8 years and my answer to you is No and I don’t care if people pile on. Just because everyone says you should use one doesn’t mean you NEED to. Just want to offer a different unpopular opinion that works for me. YMMV

Hey @MarkxG your opinion is always valued here. Doesn’t matter if anyone finds it different from theirs. This is a diverse community and opinions should be respected. We are on opposite sides of the fence on this subject and always will be, and that doesn’t mean I respect you any less, it just means we do things differently and that’s cool. :sunglasses:

Absolutely, I love how opposite you guys are, very entertaining (!!) and yet informative so people can make up their own minds.

Maybe my WiFi router is too old. Tp link archer 5, 1200. There’s no support for it any more. But what bothers me is laptop and phones work great. :person_shrugging:. I run phones laptop on 2.4ghz and onn pro on 5ghz

I run everything with 5GHz and have the 2.4 band disabled. I am in a highrise apartment building so I also made sure to choose a channel with very few ppl using it, just one besides me. 136.

Greetings,

In my opinion and that’s just me I don’t use a VPN except for surfing online and paying online stuff to and extent. RD&PM have https secure links,I know if you use RD with a VPN you won’t be able to stream on some service’s.I don’t know about Kodi because I rarely use it anymore.

Never found a service that stopped me from playing any RD links with an active VPN. Not yet.

VPNs are like a condom, it’s better to have one not need it, then need it not have one.

FYI. Since I started using the Windscribe VPN everything is working fine. They has been the only VPN that worked.

I was thinking Miki, I know, I have the tv, Directv tuner, and the onn all together here. Before you ask, wife won’t let me get rid of those crooks at Directv. Maybe that’s pulling it down. Was thinking of disconnecting tv and see if speed moves well maybe not the ONN is only one on 5ghz Thoughts

I guess it may be worth a try. I honestly have no idea what maybe interfering with your signal or causing speed degredation. Heck, even a Microwave oven can mess things up.

Well the ONN is only device on 5ghz. And it’s the only device that loses speed connect to vpn. I’m waiting on an answer from proton. I did see onn is connected using dhcp! I switched to static and speed dropped some so went back to dhcp

I have surf shark and it’s worse
