How to watch trailers on the crew (Kodi)

Is there a way to watch trailers of movies in the crew repo?

Several years back I was able to watch trailers in the Kodi addons. And then it stopped being available. I think that they were hosted by YouTube. Maybe it all changed when YouTube was bought by Google?

I’m having the same issue i’ve not been able to watch movie trailers in Kodi in The Crew, Seren, IMDb, TMDB ect.

I have noticed that IMDB & TMDB want a YouTube login. However, signing in through the APK is not easy at all. You can not simply go through the sign in function on the YouTube apk.
Matter of fact, it’s such a pain in the butt that TP posted an instruction article about it, which is also a pain in the butt: YouTube APK sign in.

I am wondering, is there not some other easier to use APK that can be utilized instead of YouTube to watch movie trailers with in these APK’s ?

I would also like to know that I was previously able to watch movie trailers and I’m not sure why I get an error now.

I’m reviving an old thread pertaining to the issue with getting movie/TV trailers in Kodi. I had posted this in another thread and thought that it would better serve here. (NOTE: at the urging of Miki :grinning_face:). I really enjoy watching the trailers and have found quite a few under-the-radar movies and TV shows just watching trailers.

Anyhow I found this on the Kodi website listed below.

With Kodi I had to load Youtube as an addon to get the trailers to work. But for some reason, recently, the trailer option is not working. It appears that Youtube hosts all of the trailers at least in the Kodi world.

UPDATE! I just found this on the Kodi website. I tested and it worked!!!

Installing

This add-on is installed from the Add-on browser located in Kodi as follows:

  1. Settings
  2. Add-ons
  3. Install from repository
  4. Video Add-ons
  5. IMDb Trailers
  6. Install
