On TiviMate is there a way to stop or turn off the video preview? Once you click on a show the preview video stays on the top left until you select another show. Can you just stop or exit the preview, while you search for another show.
Go to settings, appearance, TV guide, preview, then turn it off
That will turn it off completely.
What I’m looking to do is after I preview a channel.
I set a recording.
Then I leave Tivimate on, usually overnight to record.
I would like to have the preview off, not running all night.
settings>appearance>TV Guide>Preview>Stay on TV Guide when switching channels (toggle off)
Why do you leave the TV mate on?
Go into settings>Appearance>TV guide>click on preview>Click on>Full screen switching timeout> set to> sec 30
Once set the preview shuts of after that time is up. No more preview.

Not sure what preview has to do wth recording but…
theres no need to leave it on for recording, you just need to set up a REMINDER for each recording overnight or when yor away
Then go into Settings…
Other…
Reminders…
Set the Default Action to WATCH…
& set Wake Up from Sleep to ON
now yor device will wake up for each reminder
& remembr u need more than 1 connctn to record

When the ‘Preview’ screen times out it will automatically go to full screen. So even though you don’t want a preview running your full screen will be.
I don’t understand why after you set your recording just exit out of Tivimate as normal. As long as your device is just in sleep mode. Your recording should take place as normal whether your TV is on or not. I would do as @zorlac suggests turning on “Wake up from sleep mode” in Reminders. There is a disclaimer stating that it may not work on all devices. I don’t have that enabled on my Shield and the recordings seem to work fine.
At least it works that way for me on my Shields. What device are you using?
Edit: I just ran a short test. I set a recording in Tivimate, exited Tivimate, and turned off TV. The set recording took place as normal with the TV still off. As long as your device is only in sleep mode. Then you should be able to set recordings and be able to turn off your TV and go about your business.
Btw, I do not have that ‘Wake up from sleep’ feature enabled, but it is something to consider if you are having issues. Reminders only display a pop-up when your reminder is set to watch later or dismiss. If you set it Watch as your default. Then the channel will auto change to that channel you set the reminder for.
I second what PF said. Other than changing the setting I referred to, if you’re leaving it on, my Shield Pro acts exactly the same. TV off, shield off, it records whatever is programmed without my input, and then I watch at my liesure the next day.

That’s what I use. Then set your recordings and exit out of Tivimate and turn off your TV. That works for me. No need for reminders or anything else.
Just set it and forget it.
Scheduled a recording for early this morning.
Worked like a charm.
