How to transfer music from MacBook Air to iPhone 12

I’m an Android guy. My wife has an iPhone 12. She wants to listen to music on her iPhone in the car through IOS CarPlay. I have a MacBook Air and I’ve been trying unsuccessfully to transfer her music from my Air to her iPhone 12. I’ve tried transfer using Apple Music but no luck.

Any one have any suggestions? What am I doing wrong?
