Hey everyone,

I’m having some serious issues with buffering on my Kodi app running on an Nvidia Shield Pro. No matter which add-on I use, I keep experiencing long pauses and constant buffering. It’s getting really frustrating!

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

•	300 Mbps download speed
•	Using IPVanish with the UDP protocol
•	Using Real Debrid and AllDebrid
•	No builds, just using individual add-ons
•	Increased max video cache size
•	Cleared the cache

Despite all of this, I’m still getting buffering. Has anyone else had similar issues or have any suggestions on what else I could try?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Reprowski,
This is Morgan, I hope you’ve managed to resolve your issue, but if not, I wanted to share something that might help.

If you’re using the Nvidia Shield Pro with Android 11, try disabling the Plex Media Server. I know it sounds a bit odd, but it’s been the root cause of many performance issues for others.

Also, when installing Kodi, make sure you download the 64-bit ARM version directly from their website, not the App Store. Little details like this can make a big difference in setup success.

And don’t forget to use an ethernet cable—Wi-Fi on the Nvidia Shield Pro doesn’t always provide the best performance for streaming.

For the best results, I usually flash the Nvidia Shield Pro system and downgrade to Android 9 (version 8.2.1). This avoids many of these problems altogether and ensures a smooth, buffer-free experience. It’s been a game-changer for me and others!

Let me know if you need more tips or guidance!
Cheers,
Morgan

You may want to try a different protocol. Wireguard is about the best but you can read up on it here>>

My 2019 Shield Pro has no issues at all and has all the latest updates. 'Droid 11 is fine. I definately would not take the drastic measure of reflashing your device. IMHO it isn’t necessary.
