Are you talking updating IPTV content or updating the version of the app? Pretty sure in the settings, you can make it update content less frequently. Go have a look.

its the content there is live tv, epg, vod, & series the epg (program guide) seems to take the longest

I looked in my settings briefly and I think the only thing you can control is stopping it from updating content EVERY time you boot up the app. I’ll look closer later. I have Strong from Amber which has a ton of content but it takes less than a minute to update. Before I had them eliminate all the foreign content, it took forever, I agree. Now, no biggie and I only update once a day max.

The XCIPTV player has always been one of my favorite media platforms but lately many of the versions that have been pushed out have a lot of problems with dropping the EPG as another patron said it takes forever to update or you’ll get constant prompts that it is still running in the background and that can be up to 30 to 40 minutes I go in the settings change things around and it still seems to do the same thing there are even times where there are no movies or series even being displayed I’m noticing in the version 6 and the version 7 and anything that is after version 501 7.1.9 I do know a developer who is part of Ott run and he said most of the newer versions are pushed out while they are still in beta mode and they are not the stable versions what do you think about this?

Thank you Miki I’m quite sure that was already set up in the settings I will take a look at it again when I go home today but yes it is a constant issue. As I said sometimes the update will take up to 30 minutes and the running in the background will continuously pop up on the main screen. I appreciate you getting back to me and I will double check when I get home but I do believe this is a beta version and not the final stable version of the application. I don’t see anything about the automatic loaded what specific setting is it?I don’t see that setting in any of the versions that I have

I use XCIPTV with Strong 8K and it takes less than 25 seconds to update. When I first did the Strong 8K trial before eliminating 80% or more of the foreign content, it took forever like you are experiencing.

I now have USA, Canada, UK, Aussie and NZ which is still hefty but it updates quickly.

If you have categories you are never gonna use, can your IPTV provider eliminate that content so you’re not bogged down with it?

Do you have version 7.0 from TP Toolbox? Maybe you delete the app off your system, reload it and start anew. Something is off.

It’s a great ā€œfreeā€ player and I hope you get it sorted out.

Hi guys I wonder if someone can help. I’ve subscribed to Amber Baby’s strong service and using the XCIPTV player from Troys toolbox.

The one thing I can’t seen to get is the epg. I t downloads and updates ok, but does not display any epg info. Actions I have tried

  1. Confirmed with Amber Baby that epg is part of the service - was confirmed
  2. Temporarily stopped surfshark to see if it changed - no change
  3. Uninstalled app, reset firestick, reinstalled app
  4. Looked in the service settings in the XCIPTV player app. Found on service status page EPG No, but EPG size 66MB
    Can anyone help suggest next steps or point me to somewhere to things to resolve pls?

Also the timezone in the settings (XCIPTV) is set Europe/Amsterdam, on the Firestick it’s set to pacific (where I reside)

XCIPTV will not accept the short password provided by the hosting service. Any workaround for that?

You may be making a mistake when typing in credentials. Double check everything is accurate. If still not working its your provider’s problem and you need to reach out to them for support.

New issue with XCIPTV. They are insisting that you allow them to track your activity/content/data and it doesn’t look like there is a way around it. Anyone else getting this? Now, every time I open the app, this screen comes up first. I may have to spend $$ on Sparkle or Tivimate and be done with the freebies. I switched to Smarters for the moment.

Can’t you simply click confirm choices and then deselect everything? Lot’s of sites do this, especially when you have an ad blocker. There is usually one that remains called something like ā€œessential serviceā€ that you can’t opt out of and some even have the ā€œdon’t sell my dataā€ button but lord only knows if they honour that.

I tried to navigate down for a closer look but I couldn’t get it to ā€œview detailsā€ with the remote. I was afraid to click on ā€œconfirm choicesā€ not knowing what the choices were. Maybe I can totally opt out. I’ll try again. Thank you.

@GraceWilson, because I’ve been planning on dropping XCIPTV, I thought I’d try to see that screen and choose confirm to let ya know what happened, but didn’t get that screen, hopped around in there, left, went to another player, came back, same thing not like yours, left again, came back, etc. etc. etc. three times, so no luck, sorry ….

I also installed it and started it and all I get is a screen for the IPTV url/ Username/ Password. Nothing like your pic.

Strange but I THINK I figured out why it’s happening. I have been using the Netherlands server on Surfshark the last week or so and this is what’s making it pop that screen up in XCIPTV. I deleted the app and reinstalled it and it happened again. I changed the server to something in the USA, cleared cache, force closed and the pop up screen has not come back. Thank you for trying to recreate the problem.
