Yeah my stremio RD was not working either. But my torbox is working fine. I will have to play with it tomorrow. I restarted the app and cleared cache. RD was still not working. Thought maybe RD was down.
Itās an issue with Torrentio on Stremio as reported on Reddit. But I didnāt have the issue with Torrentio using Kodi.
Users of Stremio should install other indexers and not just rely on Torrentio and the same goes for other VOD apps that you have the ability to use other indexers. Always have a backup option for anything that is cloud based.
My workaround restores the Torrentio add-on 90% of the time. As Avid has said install other add-ons. I have Comet, Comet PM and RD, Mediafusion, Media Fusion PM and RD, Jacketio, ThePirateBay+, and other minor ones installed and Iām never at a loss to get a good source to play. This is a minor glitch for now and Iām sure a fix wil be found and an update released. Added bit of info, just did some testing and I am getting the occasional bad gateway notification. Hopefully fix is coming.
It seems to be a cascading failure. My exoplayer is now failing on some sources. Comet RD seems to be the most stable of all. The last BuzzTV update for the P6L rendered my libVLC unstable and unusable. I tried an external player but while it worked I could not figure out how to turn off the subtitles. Stremio allows an external player and I have 2, it defaulted to MX Pro with no way to choose VLC. But Iām a stubborn old **** and Iām not giving up. Kodi is out of the question as I simply dislike it more than I dislike these trivial issues. Testing continues.
Let us know Miki what you come up withā¦last couple of days Iāve been having problems also.
I have had no problems with my Strenio or Torrentio streams .
@Miki can you tell me how to configure it so it only shows 1080 and above , please ? I was really used to seeing the yellow 4K highlighted streams on syncler . This doesnāt have that .
Which add-on are you using. If itās MediaFusion then enable the advanced or pro settings and scroll down. There is a whole section that you can choose which ones you do or donāt want. If itās Comet Iāll have to have a look itās been a while since I configured it.
@Miki Mikii dont even know. How do i check ?
Go into the stremio settings then addons and see what you have installed.
@Miki it doesnāt tell me . All it says is sync add-ons
Sent you a message
Ok I found it . Do I want the Dolby vision is that good ? Or is that lower standard then 1080 and 4K ?
Dolby Vision is a proprietary version of HDR, like HDR10+ (It has nothing to do with display resolution). These versions are only relevant if you have a streaming device that can decode that version of HDR and/or you have a display that can do the same. HDR is a dynamic use of color and contrast and brightness, that when paired with 4K (and in some cases usable with 1080P) resolution displays will provide a very stunning picture.
Not all displays will render one enhanced HDR format vs the other (e.g. Samsung displays plays HDR10+ but not DV, while LG is vice versa. Some displays can render both.) Which one is better is subjective.
@mthr1 mthr1thanks
In the last several days, Iāve encountered multiple issues with getting the āhttpā error message.
During this period, I could sometimes get a working stream by choosing a different link one by one until I got one that worked.
My main question is, is there a way to determine if it is Torrentio that is down or, one of the Debridās. Currently, I am using Premiumize.
Until the last week Stremio has been largely rock solid but, it has gotten a bit frustrating as of late with all the errors.
All the recent issues are from Torrentioās side (except for if youāre in India, then itās different).
Debrid services VERY rarely go down completely, since they have multiple CDNs to route you through should one fail. You might want to add alternate addons. Stremthru Torz in particular is one that pretty much has results on par with Torrentio.
The problem seems to be multi faceted. On some devices like tablets, there doesnāt seem to be any issues, then some have found switching server locations when using a VPN has worked, others jave found that when using a premium server service it works when turning the VPN off. I found it worked for me if I force stopped Stremio, cleared cache and then restarted Stremio. I do know there a a ton of online forums with questions and no real solution, but you can rest assured rthe Torrentio gang is hard at work to clearly define the issue and to correct it. One said it jad to do with port verification and access. So you can see that us common folk are left wondering and waiting. I found that my MediaFusion add-on with RD authorized worked just fine. I also found that using one of my Plus server locations in Proton that is optimized for TV and VOD streaming was more reliable. More questions than answers Iām afraid.
The issue and varied reports related to whether it works or not are mostly down to VPN usage, as Torrentio has implemented VERY strict blocks after the recent outage.
As you may have noticed, the past few days had Torrentio outages and hiccups. Even though it is back up, it is no longer able to be reliably used with AIOstreams instances, and if you are using a VPN, chances are your IP range has also been blocked. Torrentioās dev has blocked common datacenter IPs from providers such as Datacamp and M247, which are commonly used by most popular mainstream VPNs. This includes Surfshark, Nord, Proton, Mullvad, pretty much all VPNs honestly.
Though there still are IP ranges that arenāt blocked, it could happen at any moment, making switching servers and hoping for the best a temporary solution. The only alternative is to no longer use a VPN, which should make Torrentio show up and work properly, or switch to an alternative. Or at least have one handy for the next time itās down.
As an example, I recommend two very good ones that rival Torrentioās large amount of cached links and scraping capabilities:
The install process for both is the exact same as for Torrentio, so you shouldnāt have any issues.
This will ensure that you always have an actively working addon, even should Torrentio go down or block you from accessing it.
Thank you for the tip on Streamthru Torz. A secondary option was going to be my next question.
