Since tivimate no longer appears on my nvidia shield interface, I have tried a few launchers, the latest is the premium launcher. It is, by fat, the worst.

The others may not have had soany options, but they also took no time to set up.

The premium launcher, had I followed through, would have easily taken over an hour to set up, even in it’s most rudimentary configuration.

I have 1Gb ethernet service and it was soooo slow and stodgy that I uninstalled after about 30 minutes.

It is important to note that while Premium TV does work well as a replacement for the stock home screen of your device, “““__you may want to consider other 3rd Party Launchers such as Projectivy that currently perform better.__””

I’ve tried quite a few Android TV launchers over the years, and Premium TV Launcher is one of the better ones if you like a clean and customizable home screen.

Setup was straightforward, and once configured, it runs smoothly on my device. I especially like the widget support and how easy it is to organize apps the way I want. It makes the TV feel more personal compared to the default interface.

Like most third-party launchers, it may need a bit of tweaking depending on the device, but after that, it works reliably. Updates also seem to improve things over time.

Overall, it’s a solid option if you’re looking to upgrade your Android TV experience without clutter or unnecessary features.

I installed Premium TV Launcher after reading this article and have been using it for a bit now. The setup guide here made things pretty easy to follow.

On an older Android TV box it wasn’t the smoothest experience, but on a newer Android TV it runs much better and feels nice and responsive. I really like how clean and uncluttered the interface is compared to the stock launcher.

Also a small thing, but I genuinely enjoy the weather widget — it’s convenient seeing the forecast right when the TV turns on.

Overall, a helpful article and a good option if you’re looking for a simple, ad-free home screen.

I’ve been using Premium TV Launcher for a bit now and this guide is spot on. Setup was easy, and the difference was noticeable immediately. The home screen feels clean, fast, and actually enjoyable to use — no ads, no clutter, just my apps the way I want them.

One thing I really love is the weather widgets. They’re honestly super cute huhu. The animations and layout fit perfectly with the modern design, and it’s nice being able to glance at the weather without opening another app. It adds personality without making the screen feel busy.

What I really like compared to other TV launchers is how lightweight and stable it is. Some launchers look flashy but end up laggy or buggy over time. But Premium TV Launcher stays fast, boots quickly, and doesn’t try to overdo things. The customization is actually useful too, custom backgrounds, app rows, and the ability to hide stuff you don’t want seeing every day. This feels way more “yours” instead of being forced to scroll past ads and recommendations. And compared to other third-party launchers, it just works without constant tweaking.

For me, this is one of the stable options out there. Great tutorial as always!
