Use this instructional guide that will provide you with step by step instructions to install Nuvio on Android TV, Google TV, Firestick, and more. Nuvio is a high powered streaming application that is available for both Android mobile phones/tablets as well as streaming devices like Android TV/Google TV and Fire TV. Similar to the StremioâŠ
I agree about Nuvio. This app as a ton of promise and is getting better and better as they work out some of the quirks. The degree of configurability within the settings is really impressive. Just being able to customize the home screen for grid view by itself makes it so much better than the infinite row scrolling in StremioâŠ.but thatâs just the tip of the iceberg with all the other cool features it has. I look forward to continuing to see how this (and other newer apps like STRMR) evolve.
I have added Nuvio but the addons need some work. If you have Stremio installed, when you configure an addon like torrentio and add multiple Debrid service and copying the json manifest link the addon does not transfer all your debrid services to the addon, it does for Comet but not Torrentio and clicking install automatically installs it to Stremio and not Nuvio. Lots of potential for sure and way ahead of STRMR with itâs own built in library and episode tracking. No need for Trakt, yea, but there is an option for those who do want it.
OMG Nuvio Media Hub is the bomb. I actually think itâs better than Stremio. You read that right BETTER. My only suggestion is do not use the internal player. Just Video Player gives a brighter, clearer, more colourful picture, so use External player. Love it, love it. TX @Crowley

You want to try What I consider to be even better than Stremio? Try the Nuvio Media Hub for series and movies. Integrates across all your devices so just one setup needed. I did it on my tab and then used my phone to scan the QR code that popped up on my Buzz box, and enter the code. Fantastic look and options.
Yeah - itâs definitely a great app for sure. Iâm loving it. The few issues Iâm experiencing right now on the TV version of the app are:
-
If you watch a TV episode as part of a series, your âcontinue watchingâ row doesnât automatically update. Ex: watch episode 2, then exit to your home screen. The âcontinue watchingâ row shows that episode 2 is âup nextâ. If you long hold on that card, then click âgo to detailsâ, you can see within the series that the episode you just watched is still marked as âunwatchedâ. This sync issue needs to be addressed (and has been reported by several people in the discord channel as a bug)
-
Not all movies / series are showing the trailer button on the TV version of the app. If you pull up the same title on the mobile version however, there are trailers. This has also already been reported, and will hopefully be fixed soon.
-
Trakt sync issues with movies / series youâve already watched are not 100% syncing with Nuvio. If you log-in to Trakt, or look at another app like STRMR, you can see the correct watched status, but this isnât syncing to Nuvio 100% of the time.

The dashboard (media hub) isnât consistently syncing with the local version of the app. If I for instance remove a catalog row in my AIOMetadata setup and re-install the addon within the Nuvio dashboard, it doesnât sync to the TV version of the app despite a force stop & clear cache. I have to manually re-install the addon within the TV app itself to get it to reflect the change I made in AIOMetadata.
These arenât huge issues, but together are some quirks that impact the overall user experience. Hopefully weâll see these and some of the other minor bugs fixed with the next release or two. With these things aside, Nuvio has been awesome. Between Nuvio and STRMR, I find myself not using Stremio at all anymore. The active development of these new apps is what really sets them apart. Itâs great to see a community that so actively takes user feedback into account ![]()
I donât have most of those issues. Mine does not auto mark an episode as watched after I am finished so I manually do it. It does sync on both my devices almost instantly. I donât use Trakt as Nuvio does it for me. I love the Calendar app and the notices I get for a newly released episode. I hope the DEV continues his work and I would definately buy him/her a coffee if that option becomes available. This is good work. I would even buy a lifetime sub for the App if that ever is available. Not using Stremio right now. I donât knowingly use AIOMetadata as I dislike it and turn it off everywhere when possible.
Loving this app. Still in development . I like it better than Stremio already. Uses exoplayer as internal player and thatâs a mistake IMHO. Using it pic is dark, colours muted, and a bit fuzzy. I am using external Just Video Player is far better, brighter, clearer and colours pop. I use 4K HDR almost exclusively. Give it a look. Oh and Just has a forced English subtitle option when a source has the proper subs for the odd foreign language in an english movie.
I have not tried a different player, I may have to look in to that. But I have went from STRMR to Nuvio, Weyd is still my most used.
Interesting. I was not familiar with just video player. Will check this out
So what features would you say make it better than stremio? Stremio works very well for me, just trying to figure out if Nuvio would be as good or better than stremio.
Just Player is in Troyâs Toolbox
. I discovered it a few weeks ago. Itâs a fork of Exoplayer but way better. Exoplayer dev has stoped development and the app is in Maintenance mode only. I was using it almost exclusively in Stremio, but now Iâm much happier with Nuvio which scrapes faster, organizes sources much better and actually has a visually appealing home screen. Still in development but what a great start. Love the calendar and notifications for newly released episodes and Movies.
Weâve added all Nuvio apps to our TROYPOINT Toolbox including the mobile and 64-bit apps.
Review and tutorial coming soonâŠ
Thank you so much Troy. Appreciate you.
Try Nuvio. Way better than Stremio or STRMR IMHO. There is a new thread for it.
Miki, I just installed Nuvio and added some plugins. However, I donât see how to setup a Debrid account. How is that done?
I might give this a go later ![]()
Done in your addons
For those having problems with audio not playing in this app, go into Settings / Playback Settings / Audio Settings and change from Prefer device decoders to Prefer app decoders (FFmpeg).
On my BuzzTV PowerStation 6, audio wasnât working on most streams but when I changed this setting it is now perfect.
