The following guide shows you how to install the KISS Build on any Kodi device. ‘KISS’ is a new, premium build from the Dabutcher Repository that offers movies, TV shows, live channels, sports, and more. We first saw this build in a popular Reddit thread and what makes this appealing is its light size, simple…
Hey all,
I’m attempting to install the kiss build to give it a try but I’m having trouble. First, I downloaded the tp 21.3 kodi fork, got to step 21 in the tutorial and things began freezing up…that good old spinning wheel of timelessness. Force stopped, went back to try again a couple of times and nothing but blue wheels. I scrapped (uninstalled) that whole thing because I think my fire cube 2nd gen doesn’t really like the newer versions. So I went back to the toolbox and grabbed the tp 21.2 fork, it’s the closest to the 21.1 version that I use regularly without too many issues. This time I got to #23 in the tutorial but got an error message. More spinning wheel, and after a couple of minutes, I got the window in step 24. But it did nothing and the window reappeared, only for me to try is a couple more times before I gave up and came here to share my results.
I’m certain I’m following instructions to the letter, although there’s a very slight discrepancy in step 13 where it doesn’t state the version of the zip file, although I clicked the 1.6 version as the screenshot showed.
I’m running Fire OS 7.6.8.8 and have 7.73GB available and I haven’t done anything to stop the updates. Also using Ipvanish
Any ideas what I’m doing wrong? I do have an onn plus box I got recently to try it on as well, I’m just more familiar with the cube interface.
Stremio who?? Wow just loaded the KISS Build and I’m super impressed. HD playback and voices actually match the video. It’s like anything else with the learning curve but I guess I’ll get there. My main frustration is getting live tv shows. The only way I’ve found any to work is through Mad Titan. It appears they are in process of adding a ton of channels though so tap on the “new” channels and save to favorites. Like I said still learning but as of now I’m super impressed. Zero buffering with Premiumize me so far. Love it Hope to get some feedback from others on the live tv struggled. Thanks again!!
Been using KODI for 10 years. Live TV has always been hit or miss. You are better off getting a paid IPTV service for Live
Same. I was hoping it would work. Now I can’t figure out how to get back to my Umbrella in Kodi.
One more attempt! I had failed to mention that after step 21, there’s a window that comes up that allows one to add things like Trakt and debrid services and several other things. I added those on my previous attempts. This time I did not and it allowed me to complete the download. On with the authorizations!![]()

Dumb question but after installing this how do I get back to Umbrella?
Are you asking how to do a clean reset of Kodi? Check this out - How to Reset Kodi on Firestick/Fire TV in Seconds (2026)
Then after a clean reset here’s this - How to Install Umbrella Kodi Addon
Not sure I fully understand your setup but I’ll take a stab. My guess is you had the Umbrella addon and you then installed this Build? If that is correct then your Umbrella Addon would have been wiped. When you install a KODI Build it wipes any previously addons or Build you previously had.
If you want to keep your current setup but Test out other Builds/Addons I would suggest downloading the KODI Fork which you can find in Troypoint toolbox. This will allow you to run multiple instances of KODI on the same device
Yes great callout @SoloWarrior! Here is more info on the Kodi Fork - Kodi Fork by TROYPOINT - Run Multiple Kodi Apps
Ahhh that makes sense I was never understanding fully the purpose of the fork! Now I get it. Duh! Thanks so much you nailed it.
Thanks so much
Appreciate the help! If it weren’t for you all I would be totally lost.
